I think he's like a swan. Always graceful on the surface wherever he is at any moment but paddling away furiously below, not to have to upset anyone. I always get the feeling he's doesn't want to take a step which which propel him one way or the other.

I think that prevents him considering longer term commitments and putting off the 3rd album because of that. He'd need to be here at least 3 months before the release of the first single and remain until after the 3rd. Nowadays the next single seems to be ready for promotion right after its predecessor is released on physical. Natasha's heavily committed to a lot of filming in the States and the children's lives are there, so what of their relationship? I was amazed when he signed up for 6 months for GWTW but IMHO that was one he just couldn't let pass by.

At least he was honest Paul and didn't say 'I'll always be here'. I'd rather that. Also, things just sometimes happen for or to him. I think he's deciding whether to go over the water fall and risk it, or enjoy the calmer waters.
I am sure, given the same circumstances, that D would again make such a commitment of time for the right opportunity. He has acted in musical theatre before, but to open a new show as leading man, particularly such a demanding role, was a huge break(which could still lead to more) even though the show was doomed for an early closure. A big step up from his previous endeavours and we all know how he likes a challenge :)

Sorry for double post, missed yours Meg whilst typing

I think if there is a waterfall, he will be heading quickly towards it Meg, though as we fear, it may not be what's best for us  Just don't see him as a calm water type

There's always the understandable temptation for fans to urge Darius to stay longer and be more visible in the UK. He won't really re-establish himself here in music, MT or acting until he's seen doing a succession of things, particularly in the South East and more specifically, London. I'm not even sure six months is sufficient if he's trying to keep 2 or 3 career plates spinning at the same time but he would have to commit himself for long enough for it to register with the media that he's back.

In saying that, the tabloids and celeb mags succeeded in ignoring the fact that he was in GWTW. They've carried stories about Abi Titmus playing a nun in Hotel Babylon and fawned all over Kelly O doing a cameo in one episode, but I haven't seen a single word about D's participation just a week or so after KO. They must have the information from their usual sources but don't choose to broadcast it.

Similarly, he can't just walk into the top echelons in the USA. He'll have to build up a CV and a reputation. Unless he was very fortunate with the first song/album, show or film, I'd think he'd have turn his back on the UK for at least a year to make any kind of inroad there.

His fans can't make his decisions for him. However, IMHO as long as he's torn, he's bound to be compromising all the time, instead of really putting that famous drive into action.

It's the dreaded green card that'd make a big difference. He'll do what he feels he needs to whatever happens.

What are the restrictions on British Citizens living in the USA without a green card ?

Are they limited as to how long in each year they can live in the States ?

And how does not having a Green Card affect their employment prospects ?

It all depends on what visa you have.

I really don't know all the different ones but our friends went via husbands job on a work permit...transfered by his firm.

I think it gave him 5 years...it's a while ago.

Anyway no matter what they tried he couldn't get a green card so his company paid for his wife to do her nursing exams........that was how they got their green cards

Natasha said on the Craig Ferguson show that she's still a landed immigrant, whatever that means, in the States. The subject came up because Craig Ferguson had recently taken his test to become an American citizen.
My brother had no trouble moving from here to Canada and living and working there.
