On WOS there is a thread under heading performers called performers you would pay to see. Darius is getting mentions re playing in les miserables but I cant quite understand whether they mean it, what do you think.
Don't tempt fate,BT.

So long as it's OK for everyone else, I'm sure someone will get it on video.

What I do know is, on his Rhett form, Darius is capable of playiny the toughest of MT roles. He has the voice, the acting talent and the charisma and the ability to play a younger and older character convincingly and to take his character through a range of emotions. He could do it, but would he even consider it?

Right now, I'm not sure he'd want to tie himself down for the length of time he would be expected to take on such a role.

I think Booth's illness had a profound effect on Darius and that he's now determined to live a full life. Part of that IMHO is to be all he can be and that includes his career, so he's going to keep taking on very different challenges until he hits his boundary in one. He hasn't found it in MT yet. There isn't a more challenging lead role than Rhett out there, other than perhaps the Phantom because it's a more physically demanding role with more time on stage than Rhett. i suppose to balance it, the Phantom's character doesn't develop as much.

I am longing for Darius to do some more MT, I so enjoyed GWTW - so glad we made the effort to go all three times, I really loved the show, so much more so than Chicago, which I did find boring when Darius wasnt on stage! I would love to see him in a good solid musical.

news, Hotel Babylon - Darius has told rachel on .net that he will be appearing Feb 09, possibly. hopefully a few new threads will appear soon to keep us going

Preston, I think the people on Wos are just fantasizing about which performers they would like to see in

various parts.

February seems a long time away.

There always seems to be quite a delay between filming any drama series and it being shown. I guess when they re-commission anything, they block it into one of their season schedules on its usual night if possible.. I should think February is probably the start of the Spring one.

If the Hotel Babylon role is a character part it'll be Darius's first on TV and it will also presumably be a modern day character unlike his MT ones. Hopefully he can ditch the American accent too. I like his own voice. However, out of curiosity I'd like to hear his RP English one.

This will look good on his CV. I've no doubt he'll be good - we've all watched him grow.

Whether Darius does a cameo role as himself or is someone else, I do hope he doesn't have to have his hair slicked back or worse, cut and then slicked back like Billy and Sky.

His hair looked quite long in those pictures from the pool in Malibu - nowhere near Culzean Leo but getting there.

I think it was the pics from cuzean that made him cut it - he really didn't like some of them. I did

It's his hair so I suppose it's what he thinks that matters - don't want him shaving it all off in frustration, although I did eventually get used to the skinhead.

I just don't like too much obvious haircream/gel.

I think he should pay a visit to his own stylists, Taylor Ferguson, if he makes it back to Glasgow while he's in the UK. they know his hair and IMHO they've always given him great cuts.

I'll just wait and see. I didn't really like the blonde but, as you said, it is his hair and it doesn't really matter.

on Strictly come dancing tomorrow night sunday they have as a a guest Bet midler, wonder if she will sing From a distance, hope not, want to hear him sing it first.

Would it be happenstance if she did?

I've seen that thread you spoke about. Although GWTW closed early, it must have had an effect, when a thread mentioning Darius can last on there without a barrage of stupid comments.

They're right - he'd make an absolutely stupendous Enroljas but IMHO although Enroljas has a couple of the best songs. I'd also agree with those who thought he could do Valjean and Javert - actors can age easily with some make up and wigs. Javert sings the lowest notes.

I still don't see him as Marius but I do see their point............ young, romantic lead is what a 28 year old would normally play.

I'm still hoping to see him in Les Mis - Valjean would be aterrific role for him.

I'm greedy. I'd like to see him play both Valjean and Javert, though obviously not at the same time.

Unfortunately when Drew Sarich leaves the cast, David Shannon is taking over the role of Valjean on Nov 10th.

D. would not be the youngest Valjean.....the youngest (professionally) was 26 years old! (John Owen-Jones)

Edited by Bramley

John Owen-Jones stuck with the role for absolute ages. I don't ever see Darius doing that. If he got to the stage where he couldn't tweak and deepen his interpretation of the character any more and had to do the same thing every single night, I'm sure he'd get restless and want a new challenge.
