He was absolutely brilliant. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Loved it.

I watched it, he is good but I enjoyed my local singer glyn kerslake singing it better, would love to have seen him when he appeared in it at the westend. Liked the power of JOJ but not the quieter elements.
It was the quieter elements that made it. He's kneeling down and singing and there were many tears. It seemed to reach everyone - but then we'd seen the rest of the play. It was one of those rare cases when the whole audience interupted the flow of the play to give a standing ovation to one of the most moving peices I've ever heard. It's great but even better in the play.

I did see les mis on broadway. Much as I loved the music, didnt like the setting, found it depressing. Off to see Oliver this week.

Then it worked...it's a depressing story.

I have seen it in Manchester and London....I love it.

The first time I saw it I was facinated with how the scences were put together

Ditto. Off to see Oliver tonite, expecting a very high standard altho amateurs they are as good as the westend.
I've never been able to stand 'Oliver' I don't know if i could force myself to go even if Darius was in it.
I should think we're safe there - He's too old for Oliver or the Artful Dodger, he's not my Nancy, he's too young to be Fagin and I don't want him to be that horrible man Sykes.

I think I must be all Olivered out. I don't seem to enjoy it any more.

I went to the cinema the other year to see the Roman Polanski version and thought it wasn't that great. Then there was the TV one with Timothy Spall as Fagin. Timothy Spall is a great actor but I was disappointed - I thought he was terribly miscast.

Too young to be Fagin? Theatrical make-up can do wonders. I think he might enjoy such a role (for a limited time)

It would take him away from the romantic leads and prevent him becoming type-cast.
