I wouldn't know where to start to set up my laptop DVD for another region. I wonder if they'd work on it. The keyboard has a dollar sign but no pound sign.

That's very useful, BT. I'd like some news but know from ecxperience we'll probably be the last to know.

Brought over from Rachel' (Sonnet's) site.

Some more news on this - Darius is cast as Genarro Fazio, an italian magazine editor, a fun role but one which explores the dark side of celebrity culture

This relates to Hotel Babylon.

You put the dvd in and if it isn't the region already programmed then it tells you and asks do you want to change.

The catch is you can only change about 3 times.

To use a £ sign change your keyboard into UK from US and then use the shift key when pressing '3'

The @ key will be in a different place too.....I can't remember and at the moment I haven't got my US laptop here.

Thanks, spamfritter. I didn't know you could get a £ sign on it, so I always typed it out in full. I'll try that next time I've got my laptop out.

The @ sign is above the 2 and the " sign is above the ' . You should see me trying to write e-mails when I've just switched from the laptop to the PC or vice versa, it's hilarious.

The only typewriter I used had no 1 or 0 - you had to use l and O. It's caused me problems ever since.
It doesn't help when you're typing up a program and have been used to that - the computer doesn't recoginise that l is 1. For some reason, the program fails. Even after years I'd occasionally revert to l or O if I was distracted - it takes ages to see your mistake as well.

How awful was it when we had to type everything 100% accurately to get the simplest of little computer programs to work? All those DOS commands - makes me shudder just thinking about it.

And what about loading ready prepared programs from a tape deck? how frustrating was that? It was so hit and miss.

Still no news of the whereabouts of Darius ? Maybe we'll find out soon.

Disney's linking up for that charity fashion show Natasha and other stars usually do every year "Runway for Life" and they're making a bigger occasion of it this year. Natasha is definitely listed as taking part again. I'd think that if he wasn't otherwise engaged that evening, Darius would escort her. He usually tries to support her charity work, as she also does his.

I'll have to find the news article again because I forgot to check the date.

That sounds good.

I never used dos, ours was scl or shellscript. Sounds as though I was lucky.

I haven't checked all the image sites but so far it looks like Darius did not escort Natasha to the Runway for Life, as he usually does when he's in LA.

Let's hope he is over here WORKING! Something for us all to see/hear at a later date.

It's not long until we get to hear "From A Distance" and "I Need Thee Every Hour".

.....................and I know that even if everything goes wrong with my recording, I'll be able to see it on the BBC iplayer for seven days after it's shown.

Interesting snippet from Rachel on her site;-

Hmm...I was just checking Jill Paice's resume online and it lists Gone With the Wind (Demo) under Recordings - it makes you wonder if the cast did make a demo recording of the show/songs

If they did, what happened to it?

Perhaps Gone With the Wind was one of the first 4 songs submitted to Sir Trevor by Margaret Martin and it was recorded by Jill at the time of the Workshop sessions when she was in Woman In White in London.

Is there anything on Edward's resume? I'm fairly sure he said he'd been involved in the early stages too.

He was. 4 years of workshop wouldn't give us Darius singing anyway. He said he hadn't recorded any.
