I love this album, I got it for my birthday on wednesday and its amazing :heart:

 

Definite highlights and future singles have to be Chasing Ghosts and Play Me

 

And I just wanted to say to those reviewers who were slightly nasty about the album...you're all wrong and musical snobs who probably think Katherine Jenkins is the height of musical excellence...

 

The Alesha Show is a fun pop album and I think its brilliant and possible fave of 2008

Oooh thanks for posting that performance; it's excellent! I don't like it on youtube videos when they cut out the cheering at the end though, i'm sure she got loads! I do very much love this album and hope that the so far impressive performance of "Breathe Slow" can help it to sell more than it's current 100k-ish.

The song has also made #6 on the MTV European Top20 chart, which is always a good exposure, and #11 on an unoficiall Bulgarian Top40 singles chart.

xylem thanks for doing this, im interested in how wel she does around europe but didnt know where to find info.

Apparently shes going to promote in france soon, so she may get higher then 21 there.

#21 is just the I-Tunes position, downloads arent allowed to chart in the French chart yet. But there is already a release date for it, and I'm hoping for a top20 hit at least.

Its nearly over in the UK, but its just starting in Europe. There are topics for UK and US releases, so why not for Europe? I think its rude just to merge a topic and not even PM me before deciding what to do with it. If you dont wanna post in the thread fine, leave it to people who do.

I didn't merge it (though Aled was right to do so). Multiple topics for the same song clog up forums (and I for one don't 'support' seperate topics for US and UK releases).

the problem is, there's no topic for The Boy Does Nothing. At least I did a search and nothing came up

I also noticed we didnt have an actual thread for Boy Does Nothing as it's discussed here with the album but id say it's better that way and that the same song doesnt have about 3 different threads discussing the same thing just in different countries.

When I made this thread it was titled TBDN but since TBDN is done now this just became a topic for the album. :P

Are you pleased with how your album is doing?

"I think when any artist comes out of the traps they just want to get a silver record and then a gold one. We released the album in the toughest week of the year, and it was a bit scary as we'd only put out one single before it. We knew it was a risk, but I'm really pleased with how it's gone and now we're going into 2009 knowing we have something to work on. The plan is to keep going for the rest of the year and we're currently sketching out what singles are going to come out. I'd love to think we could have a platinum record by the summer."

 

Have you decided on the third single yet?

"We're having a debate about it at the moment. I think it should be 'Lets Get Excited' but some of the team think it's a bit like Marmite – you'll either love it or hate it. They're thinking 'Italians Do It Better', but I'm a bit worried that it's too far down the album. You'll have to watch this space!"

I like that she's worried it's too far down the tracklist, as if people looking at the back cover will stop half way down out of boredom or something :heehee: Bless. She's got the right idea though, it needs to be LGE...

I do think 'Let's Get Excited' would be a better choice than 'Italians DO It Better.'

Italians Do It Better should not be a single IMO. LOL at her reason for it though.
