Great number ones from Killing Joke, Propaganda, The Smiths, David Sylvian and Echo and the Bunnymen and some right old stinkers, too :P Elton, Nik Kershaw and... gulp... Foreigner :o ;) But a great rundown so far - despite no 1984 Alison Moyet number ones (not even Love Resurrection :cry: )
September 18, 200816 yr 42 The Smiths - Bigmouth Strikes Again Jun86 - 2 Wks I remember watching this very performance on Whistle Test many moons ago (and what a superb performance it s - still my joint fave Smiths single, alongwith Last Night I Dreamt) - and that it was meant to have been recorded in Cardiff that week - so a friend and me went to the BBC studios in Llandaff and waited all day to see the band.... only to find out that Morrissey's nan had died and they'd not come to Cardiff to do the show after all.... :rolleyes: :( The odd thing about your chart is that many of the songs you mentioned, I had as my own chart number ones - in the order you're putting them. I used to keep hardback books, with my personal charts written in, alongside the actual chart, from 79 to 88. Spooky ;)
