Darius has let me know that he will be guest starring in an episode of the BBC drama series Hotel Babylon which he is currently filming.

He said that it was great to be part of a show like Hotel Babylon that has lots of fans and he hopes you'll all enjoy it.

The show will air on BBC1 in February 2009, either episode 5 or 6.

You can read more about the show on the BBC page for Hotel Babylon

Thanks, megham. I've watched Hotel Babylon quite a few times and I really enjoyed most shows. There's a lot of humour in it and the regular cast who play the hotel staff are very good, I think.

Thanks megham. I have watched that quite a bit. How exciting for him. Oh dear another date to remember, how will we do it, would hate to miss that.
I must try to see some clips as it doesn't really appeal....however I would watch next February.
Thanks Meg. I hadn't heard of it. Doesn't appeal much except if Darius is on.

I think there will generally be renewed interest in the series because Nigel Harman is said to be taking over from Max Beesley. Max plays the ambitious Deputy Manager. Nigel's character may be different again although he still be Deputy Manager.

It seems ages since Nigel has been on TV. I remember seeing him in I think Larkrise to Candleford(?).

This isn't one I'd watch. I'll watch Darius' episode but, if he was on it all the time, I think I'd still give it a miss.
You wont believe the number of people who have said to me they dont like this progrmme. However I always couldnt help thinking max beesley was a bit sleazy, perhaps nigel will be an improvement. Hasnt nigel done a lot of musical theatre including Sky masterson in guys and dolls. I wouldnt give it a miss at all if Darius was on it all the time, he and nigel, double whammy. You all sound as if you dont support D anymore.

Darius is bound to do some things which appeal more to some sections of fans than others. I'm sure there would've been fans who gave all of his MT performances a miss because they have no interest in theatre. or couldn't get to the venues.

I have never seen the appeal of Nigel Harman. I've yet to see him in any role where I thought "you know, he's really good." I still shudder remembering that feature length spy thing he was in. I thought it was dire. To be fair, I suppose the writers hadn't given him much to work with.

It will be interesting to see if his character is still in the cheeky chappie, diamond geezer vein or if he has to step up a gear or two.

Nigel started his career in MT before he did Eastenders. I'm not sure if he's played another MT lead since Sky. I remember he was in a straight play shortly afterwards.

I don't follow his career so it's just bits and pieces that have stuck from all the fluff I've read in passing online really.

I support Darius because I like the things he does. If he decides to do something I don't like, that's fine and I'm really pleased for him. I'll carry on watching for new things and would whole heartedly support those that appeal to me. It's not a lack of interest in his work, just a realisation that I'm not going to like everything, and I'm happy with that. It wont stop me liking him and especially, his voice.

I haven't ever watched Hotel Babylon before, but I'll give it a go. It seems that Darius will be appearing as

himself, as a guest........have I got this right?

Probably not as himself - the special guests usually have quite a good character part to play. I hope that's what they are doing, it's what I would expect.

I've tried to watch Hotel babylon a couple of times and gone and found something else to do, not really to my taste, although I will be watching with interest the episode when D's on.

Some guests do appear in cameo roles but others appear as a character around whom much of the action of that week's episode revolves.

I just don't think Darius would've accepted the cameo type role. He did that way back in 2003 in Hollyoaks.

A fiction/fact cameo of Darius Danesh the actor playing Darius the singer/songwriter launching his 3rd album at a posh soiree/concert in the hotel, might be fun though.

Apparently the info I found about Nigel Harman was wrong - he is playing the new owner of the hotel.

I was talking to my daughter about this and she was really impressed. It seems I've missed the fact that she never misses Hotel Babylon and thinks it's fantastic that Darius will be appearing in it.
Good that she was impressed. I hope it is good.
we watched Hotel babylon for a time, hubby likes yasmin? .the blonde in charge that was. I didnt like the way it was filmed - talking to the camera, and we stopped watching it - however I will watch it if Darius is in it - much the same with everything...if darius is in it, I watch it!

I wish they'd filmed GWTW for TV/DVD. I'd really watch that - quite often.
Me too meg. I cant understand it, is D unlucky but it seems that what he does ie. his tour , GWTW, albert hall concerts never get filmed yet other obscure things and acts do. Its as if someone is trying to keep him out of the limelight.
I actually really miss GWTW, watching bits of Pricilla "queen" of the desert and westside story on One Night only - I realise how much I enjoyed GWTW and how few shows I would actually want to see! of course I would probably go along if darius was in them....then again probably not Pricilla after what I saw.
