I'm assuming that Darius's Italian editor will not have model's own moustache/beard as surely there wasn't enough time between him appearing at the Albert Hall and the filming of Hotel Babylon for him to grow one. I wouldn't mind a bit of stubble though.

He filmed the part before The Royal Albert Hall show, didn't he? All Italians don't have hairy faces - who knows what it'll be like.

I hadn't realised Clark Gable had died so long ago. All I've seen is old films he's in and he made my skin crawl. It'd be worse in a new film though. The curse of the Mummy strikes again?

I thought the news that Darius was busy filming a guest star role in HB, came through on the Wednesday after the Albert Hall.

 

I took it literally at that time that he was in Buckinghamshire doing his bit but I may have got the wrong end of the stick.

Isnt it strange, the daily record have a write up on Nigel Harman and his career which in a way D paralles i.e. acting and singing. They say in the write up - As well as Plus One, he has just finished shooting Hotel Babylon. He plays a businessman, Sam Franklin, who ends up buying the hotel when his ex-wife Juliet (Anna Wilson-Jones) joins as general manager yet the Daily record dont mention their own Darius being in hotel babylon.

Does anyone know the transmission date for the episode with Darius ?

 

I've not found any mention of D as yet, Preston. But I think Nigel Harmon is moving into one of the main parts, isn't he ?

Maybe there will be some publicity nearer the time......... hope so.

 

I dont rate NH that much, he seems to have aquired the ladies man tag, by means of that angst and squinty eye in Eastenders and that appears to be all he has to offer from what roles I have seen hi m in since - oh well - I dont think he can act that well but he seems well liked. again some people seem to get great breaks in their careers

I like Nigel Harmen, he's rather Yummy!.......no where near as Sexy as our Gorgeous man himself though of course!!!

You're right about some people seeming to get great breaks in their careers. I feel Darius always has to fight so hard for any recognition or praise. Sue

The possible date is somewhere on Rachel's site. I think he first givn was 5th but it wasn't definate.

I completly agree with you Sue,i get sick and tired of people giving Darius such a hard time,he has got more talent than most people put together, and he dosn't even have to try,it comes so naturaly.Yet its the ones who wouldn't even know how to spell talent let alone have any,who seem to get all the praise!As much as i'm so exited and looking forward to seeing Darius in this,and giving so many more people who dont already know what a Fantastic actor he is ,the chance to find out excactly how good he is,i'm also hating the fact that there are going to be those ready to rip his appearence to peices just for the sake of it......its SO BLOODY UNFAIR!!!!

Darius definately said that he thought it could be the 4th or 5th episode. We'll have to watch out for it.

Nigel Harman is one of the key cast changes for the whole series. A lot of the tension in the show will come from the in-fighting between him and his ex-partner. One of them bought the hotel and the other's the manager, I think.

 

I don't mind Nigel Harman. He's an OK actor but every time I've seen him in anything, he's been pretty much the same, cheeky chappie type. Personally, I've never been attracted to that kind of personality. Maybe that's why I've never really followed Eastenders -all that wheeling and dealing behind people's backs, scoring points off others.

 

I know it's part and parcel of modern life but not progress IMHO. I preferred when men were gentlemen and I believe there is still a place for consideration and manners.

 

My concern about Darius's character in the show, is that from what he said about it, I don't think it's going to be a very sympathetic one and that lots of the GBP who've already swallowed all the rubbish written about D will see it as an affirmation of all the stuff they already believe about him.

But it might reveal his acting talent to other TV producers, BT.

I don't know that I want that to happen. I'm not sure I'm ready to let go of Darius the singer just yet. I've only just got used to seeing him sing without his guitar or band.

 

If he'd just give us that 3rd album and a series of gigs around the UK this year, he could do anything else he likes along with it, including more TV acting roles and I'd be more than happy.

I always feel that actors age far more gracefully than singers, so I would hate to see D stuck in the role of rock or pop

singer for too long. I hope he keeps all routes open.
