June 21, 200916 yr I will obviously definitely be watching again. This first episode jumped around too much for me to really follow it but maybe with different writers it will be better.
June 21, 200916 yr Author I haven't watched it yet. It's never been a favorite program. But, I will watch it.
June 21, 200916 yr After having seen that episode, I'm beginning to worry as well Meg! Is it supposed to be a comedy drama now, because the first few series didn't come across as that as far as I can remember? Sue
June 21, 200916 yr Quote;- New 'Hotel Babylon' brings in 4.3m Sunday, June 21 2009, 15:28 BST By Neil Wilkes, Editor The fourth series of Hotel Babylon got off to a decent start in its new Friday night slot, according to early ratings figures. The new run of the drama, which saw Nigel Harman take over in the lead role, averaged 4.28m (20.1%) for BBC One in the 9pm hour on Friday. The figure is down on the 4.97m (19.7%) who saw the first episode of the third series in its old Tuesday night slot on February 19, 2008, but up on the 4.15m (17%) who saw the series three finale on April 8, 2008. Babylon beat a repeat of Doc Martin, which had 4.12m (19.4%) in the same timeslot, and NCIS, which put in 1.55m (7.3%) for Five. BBC Two's My Life In Verse: Malorie Blackman interested just 603k (2.8%).
June 21, 200916 yr Author We had to watch Doc Martin but I have Hotel Babylon recorded - now I just have to watch it.
June 22, 200916 yr It would be interesting to know how many of those people watch it again this week. Sue
June 22, 200916 yr Author I'm only really worried about Darius' episode. I wish kelly Osborne wasn't in it. I hope it's not going to be how I'm dreading it being.
June 22, 200916 yr Author Well, on the plus side, we wont be disapponted. I've no worry about his acting ability, just the setting and the character he's playing.
June 23, 200916 yr mm - watched about half, then turned over to Dr Martin..which wasnt much better, HB hasnt changed much since when we used to watch, I still dont like the effects and the storylines are a bit silly, makes me wish that love boat was back on, LOL plus it isnt even rude like it promised in the begining...hotel babylon..obviously I just cant take to Nigel H, tbh his acting is attrocious, and his fixed expression irritates me, the one eye closed slightly when he was angry in Eastenders is now obviously just one eye smaller.has he plucked his eye brows! nope, if he is in it on top of everything else I will not be able to watch, fingers crossed darius is gonna be great I will be watching that one but I am crossing this off as yet another thing I dont like,- I am almost down to the news and gardners world!! even spring watch has finished
June 23, 200916 yr Even if Darius is good, and I'm sure he will be, I'm worried about the negative comments he will get for appearing in the show. Sue
June 23, 200916 yr Author I'm worried about the media who will assume this proves that he really is like that character.
June 23, 200916 yr I am more worried that even if some people like him they wont even know hes in it with no comment along those lines at all even from the daily records tv spot.
June 24, 200916 yr So do I. I've been listening to him on Burns Nighrt and the Songs of Praise programme, whilst cleaning the bedroom, and it's bitter sweet, because it's lovely to hear him, but part of me feels so sad because we don't know when we'll see him again and I can't help feeling it won't be soon! As for Hotel Babylon, I'm worried that if the programme does get slamed, people will be very quick to say that this is all Darius gets offered now. Sue
