Hopefully, the ratings will go up again next week...... :D

If Darius wasn't in an upcoming episode, I'd have stopped watching after that terrible one on Friday.

However, next week's show seems to have been flagged up in most of the TV books and sometimes more than once - e.g "TV easy" has a tiny pic of Darius on the Peek at the week pages, a bit about John Savident on the Look out for.. page and the pic of "Tony" and Kelly O on the plan your day - Friday and at the top of the TV listings for Friday. The show is one of their picks

They also told viewers to turn over to BBC3 for Torchwood just before the show, so the drop was expected. On the plus side, that's 340,000 people who didn't watch that terrible episode so they may give it another chance with Darius in it.
fingers crossed ratings are up for D! mind you nigh on 3 million people isnt chicken feed tbh, they all paid their license fee didnt they!!! shame everything has to be seen as all or bust these days.

I think it's always difficult when favourite characters are written out of long running shows. This series started without Max Beesley, who was one of the mainstays of the show, and then a few episodes later Anna went too.

Nigel Harman has been very good but he isn't Max Beesley and his character doesn't have the same oomph.

I really liked Anna as a character, although I thought the way they handled the baby storyline, right down to the strange looking bump, was more like a farce than the slick, funny plots they used to have. Nevertheless the treasure hunt show was my favourite one so far this season.

IMNO the poker tournament and sci-fi conference shows were much weaker and they didn't really grab my attention. It's unfortunate too IMO that they straddled a week's break for Torchwood.

If Darius hadn't been coming on, I'd have turned off after the first 10 mins of the first episode. Really liked the 2nd half and episodes 2 and 3 . I just hope episide 6 is more like them than the last two.
Hotel babylon is getting like chicago, too many changes in cast.

I'd never watched it before so the different cast didn't worry me. I'd never made it past the first 10mins before
its one of those shows you have to take tongue in cheek, I enjoy some of it now, I enjoyed Tony Robinson as the killer, but Denese Vanelton? was so bland, and the story line a bit predicable, I didnt like Max Beesly, but Nigel H just has no charisma in comparison. I am only watching really in waiting for Darius! and if I dont get it recorded and it is good..I may be joining those who have ordered DVDs....

The dvd is worth getting for me as it's his first acting tv role. I'd be more enthusiastic about a dvd of the 'Dive In' tour or 'Gone With The Wind' but they wont be happening.

I'd keep one in reserve in pristine condition.

I'll record episode 6 of HB but I intend to buy the official BBC Dvd too. I'll keep the latter for good and use my own copy.

I might experiment and try copying my recording to VCR and then back to Dvd. Apparently I can do that on my machine.

The little Hotel Babylon trailer helped me to discover another neat little feature I didn't know existed. I can create a playback loop of any section of any Dvd and it will keep repeating until I stop it. Brilliant!

Virtually every technological step forward I've taken has been in pursuit of something Darius related.

Mine too. I didn't have a pc when he started and at work we had mainframes. I think the loop would be excellant.

sounds like me, I have two sink or swim books, one signed - the other to read! same goes for anything D related!! I even bought two gwtw mugs - one for the cabinate, one to use(which I havent as yet!!) I have more than five copies of CDs though..mainly due to them wearing out and getting jumps!! who was it said CDs were virtually indestructable !!

now you say that, Meg - I may have to get a DVD -

I still haven't had time to cherry pick my old VCR stuff for the Darius footage.

I think the new features I found after last week's "blink and you'll miss it" Darius in HB will make the task much easier. I'll just transfer every tape, on which I know there's some Darius, to DVD and then I'll use the divide feature later to separate out and delete the non-Darius bits I don't need, until I'm just left with Darius.

Am glad to see I am not the only one, also have several copies of sink or swim and the cds and everything else as well.I also have a new combi for transferring etc etc but havent a clue how to work any of it. I was stopped from coming on here for a couple of days and couldnt log in. In the end had to send an email and have another password before I could access. No idea why as hadnt logged out. I hadnt watched the latest hotel babylon until very recently but had watched the ones with Max beesley which were OK but was expecting more from Nigel harman found him disappointing.
I really need to transfer all my videos to DVD...they are all under the bed, it will take a lifetime I am sure to sift through an dedit out all the gumpf inbetween Darius!
