At least by the time i can buy one of those converters, you lot will have worked out everything I need to know.

I've just watch the last HB and it wasn't quite as good as others but ok.

 

Watched the trailer for Darius........not keen on how he holds Juliet....

I think showing he can be a villain may just help him more than if he played his own character.

agreed, he has only played himself so far on TV in Hollyoaks..I like the dark side, did in GWTW, I hope he pulls it off, the media et all are always so keen to pick on anything he does!!!! ie if he is good it will be ignored, if they can find anything to make negative..they will do! I think thats why I am so nervous of anything he does -

It doesn't matter how he does, they've never let it stop them before

It's not just the way he's holding Juliet which got to me. He's really in her face and the fact that his voice is controlled, unfeeling makes it more menacing.

 

I don't think I would've been so disturbed if it had been another actor - from the little they showed us, I wasn't able to separate Gennaro from Darius, as I have always whenever I've seen him act onstage.

 

I think Darius will want to try to find his limits by playing as many different roles as he can, onstage or TV/film and I have to accept that I'm not going to love him in every part he does, just as I accepted that I wasn't at all keen on one or two of his songs, including one he had written ( the one with the French).

 

 

If you don't - then he's probably succeeded. Only a few days to go.

Just noticed that this thread started in September 08. It's a long time to wait for a few minutes of tv.

That's the thing with filmed acting. It's got to go to post-production where they do all sorts of fascinating things to the raw footage and then it has to wait for a slot on the schedule.

 

That film Natasha did with Hugh Jackman and Ewan Mcgregor took absolutely ages to release and every time you heard about it it had a different title - The Tourist, The List and was released as Deception

I much prefer a live gig.

Does everybody else's thread end with a post from megham on 29th? Where are the posts from Friday?

 

Actually, looking at the index, we seem to have lost all the posts after 29th. Is it the same on the rest of the forums?

Phil has apologised for the loss of Friday's posts.

 

What do we say? Things never seem to work out right for Darius fans. Firday was our first view of Darius playing his first straight acting character role on TV.

 

I posted this earlier on Buzzjack back-up as a first response to what i remembered of Julie's and megham's posts here on the main site

 

IMHO the role of Fazio was a great first character role on TV for Darius although it was too my worst fears realised. Gennaro was an even more loathesome character than I dreamed - a supercilious, avaricious, power-hungry, blackmailer with no compunction about assaulting women.

 

I'm sure it will have given the "Darius is a sleazeball" crowd plenty of ammunition but then, as they will find fault with absolutely everything he does and waste a lot of time and make a lot of noise railing at him, he should just ignore them and take whatever acting roles he wants to do.

 

Some of his critics seem to let their antipathy towards him dull their senses, like the twitterer who said Darius was on Hotel Babylon and he was doing this awful American accent. I've heard 3 of Darius's American accents and they are very good indeed. I have to agree Fazio's accent was an awful American one.

 

The role he was entrusted with, had probably as much onscreen time as 3 interwoven stories ever permit, even for experienced guest actors, and more aspects of Fazio's character were revealed as the plot progressd, so he got to run through a range of emotions.

I'm sorry. Tbh, I don't remember where I saw the video clip. I'm a dreadful one for following links to other links and I quite often can't keep track because I close down windows to save memory. They were only featured for a very short time, just a bit more than a snap. I'll post it if I ever come across it again.

As for Hotel Babylon. I hated him - which just shows that most of acting he did worked. He was the kind of man that makes my skin crawl - even when he was being charming. So well done Darius.

 

We always knew him playing a sleazy character would start people off. I didn't actually see Darius at all in the character. He deserved the top billing he got among the non regulars.

 

As for him being awkward - well, that's someone with an axe to bear. the only bit I would have altered was his exit, I think he's have been harder. But I doubt very much he's have had any say in his role at all.

LOL, I hated him too - which was an uncomfortable feeling, as I was wanting to fancy him desperately!!!! after the initial scene I forgot it was Darius and found him horrid! goes to show looks are only the icing on the cake!!

not sure about the accent, Italian - but of course as I know D's voice it was odd hearing it.

Niether he nor kelly looked awkward in their roles, it was quite a meaty, nasty role as HB goes -
