November 22, 200915 yr A great ep for 5.10 I think .. agreed Mark is doing a great job as Lucifer, and even I felt sad when we lost Jo, and I can't stand her :o Brilliantly done, how she died in Ellen's arms just before the hellhounds arrived :( How long is the hiatus?! :(

November 22, 200915 yr The CW really are messed up. They're not airing any new episodes of ANY shows for like 8 weeks now? :( I do like the fact that Spn was left at a good point though. I honestly think this will be the last season as they're killing off literally every character. I never cared much for Ellen and Jo but it was so tragic and heartbreaking and very well filmed and acted on all parts. They were clearly the best female characters on a show that is quite sexist towards them for some reason
November 22, 200915 yr Author I've lost track with The CW pace! Stopped watching after 5.06, and just watched The Curious Case of Dean Winchester last night! (which was a very very good episode imo). Definitely hoping to catch up to US pace soon though!
November 22, 200915 yr Think there's only 2-3 to catch up on, Roo. I can't believe we have to wait so long :(
November 22, 200915 yr *dead* Why don't they just KILL US :drama: I don't know, I think Kripke prefers to just screw around with us :( The CW really are messed up. But you're right female characters don't have a long shelf life. I wonder if Anna's going to be the next one to die.
November 23, 200915 yr Author Ahh finally caught up! The end of Jo and Ellen was VERY well put. It made me feel pretty emotional... was very well done anyhow. Not sure why they decided to kill them off. I imagine a lot of it was probably down to contracts and budgets. And with this being the final season (probably) you expect casualities. It's also a good motivational tool for Sam, Dean and Bobby now. Nice little cliffhanger too. The only gripe I have at the moment is how we are basically just waiting for that moment when Sam says yes to Lucifer and becomes his vessel...
November 23, 200915 yr I actually want it to be the final season. But with there being nothing but (mostly) trash on the CW, they might do another season and that could ruin it :( I know they have hiatuses, but 8 weeks seems abnormally long, especially as other shows are running until the middle of December before breaking for Christmas.

Yeah 8 weeks is a long time, but I think so far there has only been one hitaus? The show started pretty early in September as well. 8 weeks is a long time, but it'll be over in no time. I definitely think it will be the final Season, and I hope it is. I'd rather the show go out as it was originally intended to, than to have the show pretty much ruined by some executives wanting to make money off a show they know will bring in the ratins, instead of taking a gamble with a new show.
November 23, 200915 yr Well I personally think SPN is one of the most inventive shows on TV right now... All they seem to do over in America is make countless police or medical dramas or remake old shows or adapt ideas from books or whatever. It's rather dull and unimaginative. They need shows that can take risks like 'Lost', especially as that's ending next year... And I guess you're right about the 8 weeks. I just have withdrawal symptons :P
November 23, 200915 yr Author The problem is, people watch all the medical and cop shows in their masses as they're easy to keep track of if you miss an episode and they're pretty cheap and easy to produce. Shows like Supernatural. Flash Forward and Lost are big budgets which is why there's so little of them. Even Lost, the budget for the pilot episode was so big that the guy who authorised it got fired! Networks just don't like taking big risks, which is a HUGE shame as shows like Supernatural and Lost are the best shows on TV imo. Can't believe both of them are going to be finished next year!
November 23, 200915 yr I dont think its confirmed Supernatural is gonna be finished next year. I think a season 6 is quite likely actually.
November 23, 200915 yr I suspect we could get a Season 6. Although as afforementioned, it does look like we're sitting waiting for Sam to become Lucifer's vessel and a big Sam/Dean showdown, leading to one of the brothers' death, so I'm not sure where that could go. I also kinda don't want it to be dragged out a la Smallville, but the number 6 does have a sort of relevance in the SNL world, so that might be nice. I guess as long as the show is of as high a quality as it is now, I'll watch. But dragging it out just to make some cash, it'll flop on its ass.
November 23, 200915 yr Author The problem with Season 6 is - Eric Kripe is only contracted to do 5 season, whilst Jensen and Jared are contracted to do 6 seasons as that's the bog standard US contract to stop actors always wanting to quit. I don't want it to come down to the point where the original creative team leave, and someone new comes in and ruins the characters, and the show really. I'd rather it be left after Season 5 if that's how they want to end it, and I can't see why they'd want to contine the story as afterall the current storyline is pretty much the end of the world!
November 24, 200915 yr You can't top that really! But this is the CW after all. I think 7th Heaven is one of the worst shows ever and that finished all nicely with a sewn up ending before the WB closed down, only to be brought back when the CW launched and completely mauled from what I've been told  Look at Smallville for Godsake! That used to be one of my favourite shows but it's been so awful for the past few years, it just makes me cringe to even tune in. As much as I love Supernatural, I want it to be one of those shows that doesn't outstay its welcome. Edited November 24, 200915 yr by Grami©
November 24, 200915 yr I don't have an update about this TV series quite since then, been busy of work, thanks to you guys...
November 24, 200915 yr I do sort of think The CW will try and keep it as long as possible. The Beautiful Life bombed, Gossip Girls' ratings are dwindling (as much as I hate to admit it), One Tree Hill probably won't survive beyond Season 7, Smallville HAS to be on the way out now, Melrose's rating are kinda inconsistent and who knows what'll come of Life UneXpected. They only have ANTM, The Vampire Diaries, and, I guess, 90210, to sustain them. Hence they might try and hang on to SNL while they can...?
November 25, 200915 yr Author They'll definitely keep Gossip Girl i'd have thought, but you're right about The CW as a network dwindling. I suppose a lot of it comes down to DVD sales and DVR ratings as well as although live ratings are falling, it's so much easier to watch shows now that live ratings aren't the be all and end all of the rating spectrum (although they do bring in the most money). I guess a lot will come down to what sorts of shows are being lined up to be on The CW next year as well, but judging by the lack of ideas and the re-makes of shows things probably don't look too good...! :(
November 25, 200915 yr unfortunately Smallville will probably get a Season 10. I mean its ridiculous. Is there anyone who actually still cares? The show is well past its prime, and the characters who made the show worth watching are long gone.
