What the label says:

This latest Late Night Tale contains an exclusive cover version by Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) of Livin’ Joy’s ‘Dreamer’ and a exclusive spoken word written and narrated by Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys/Last of the Shadow Puppets). Compiled by the heatbeat of the band, drummer Matt Helders with a little help from band mate Alex Turner (see the track by track sleevenotes for his reasons for choosing each track).

Blending US and UK hip hop, dirty rock and roll, electro and soul to create a soundtrack of what you might hear at their winding down after a night out.

Starting off with the cinematic ‘Connexion’ by Goblin it runs through to Roots Manuva and DJ Format, classic proto punk from The Stooges and Jonny & The Hurricanes while the finale is saved for The Rapture’s epic ‘Olio’. But that’s not quite it, with an exclusive story ‘A Choice of Three’ penned and narrated by Alex Turner, it’s the perfect end to another Late Night Tales.

Matt Helders's Late Night Tales tracklist:

1 Goblin - Connexion

2 Matt Helders ft Nesreen Shah - Dreamer

3 Viktor Vaughn – Vaudeville Villain

4 Yamasuki – Yama Yama

5 Zeph & Azeem – Play the Drums

6 DJ Format - Charity Shop Soundclash

7 Little Barrie – Free Salute

8 The Black Keys - Thickfreakness

9 The Stooges - Dirt

0 Johnny & the Hurricanes – Sheba

11 Modeselektor ft Puppetmastaz - The Dark Side of the Sun

12 Mos Def - Ms Fat Booty

13 Luniz - I Got 5 on It (Original Clean Short Mix)

14 The Coral - Grey Harpoon

15 Minnie Riperton - Reasons

16 Roots Manuva - Dreamy Days

17 Ty - Break the Lock

18 Simian Mobile Disco - I Believe

19 The Rapture - Olio

20 Alex Turner – The Choice of Three

Turner's spoken word offering will be the final track on a playlist ... It is also the only spoken word piece to be included – the rest of the artists didn't taken the series title quite so literally.

"In the tunnel I noticed I had a choice of three," Turner's story begins. "While I thought it very kind of them to offer me this I do wonder if they realised what a dilemma they were sending to face me. The trouble was if I looked at your reflection in the left window I missed the actual image of you and your reflection in the right, and if I looked at the right I had the same problem the other way around."
