Posted June 7, 200619 yr Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse could be out of the World Cup after being carried off with a suspected broken leg in France's friendly against China. The 24-year-old fell awkwardly in a challenge early in the first half of the match in St Etienne. Cisse, whose future at Anfield is uncertain, broke his left leg while playing for Liverpool in October 2004 and was out for almost six months. He had been linked with a move to Marseille after the World Cup. Cisse was chasing the ball down the right flank 10 minutes into the game and was knocked off balance by an opposing defender. As he fell, his right leg twisted under him and buckled above the ankle. He was stretchered off and replaced by David Trezeguet. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/w...nce/5057580.stm Edited June 7, 200619 yr by RabbitFurCoat
June 7, 200619 yr As an England supporter - I'm delighted because he can be a great striker. As A Liverpool supporter - this is very bad news because we now wont be able to sell him in the summer & buy Michael Owen back. We will probably be only able to buy Darren Bent or Jermaine Defoe now.
June 7, 200619 yr Heard this news about half an hour ago. I'm gutted. I feel sorry for Cisse but at the same time we can't sell him which means less funds, although Houllier will still wnat him which means a deal might not completley collapse. Cisse looked rather calm though when he was waiting to go to hospital according to another forum which is good news, but I hope the injury isn't as bad as first feared.
June 7, 200619 yr OUCH! Just seen it on Eurosport. It's like what happened last time. He fell awkwardly and his shin snapped in half.
June 7, 200619 yr What goes around comes around... No sympathy And they better keep their hands off Defoe :)
June 7, 200619 yr My reason for having no sympathy... Not only does he beat the $h!t out of pregnant woman potentially causing harm to the baby too he also assaults teenage boys   There is such thing as karma Djibril Liverpool FC striker Djibril Cisse was cautioned by police for assaulting his pregnant wife, police said today. The 24-year-old French international, who married wife Jude last June, was arrested at his home in Frodsham, Cheshire, last night. A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said: “At around 9.40pm on the evening of Thursday 26th January, police attended an address on Manley Road in Frodsham after receiving an allegation of assault on a 30-year-old woman. “As a result of police inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 39 assault. “The man was interviewed at a police station and cautioned in respect of the assault.†Last October, the flamboyant forward announced that he and his wife were expecting their first child together in spring of this year. The couple both have children from previous relationships. In the same month, he admitted assaulting a 15-year-old boy in a London park after the teenager mocked him while he filmed an advert.
June 7, 200619 yr He also reportedly spat on Liverpool supporters the night after Liverpool won the FA Cup, so I'm gutted that Liverpool FC are not going to get a load of money for the "Crazy Frog".

June 7, 200619 yr eek :o Another example why I can have no sympathy for this repugnant individual Assaulting pregnant women, assaulting teenage boy, spitting at people   The sooner Liverpool get rid of him the better. I dunno how bad the leg break is but hopefully it isn't as serious as last time and then hopefully he can maybe go in Januray. I think Lyon were gonna pay about 11 million for him :o .
June 7, 200619 yr While this sounds a bit sorta morbid if the guy is forced to quit then Liverpool will be insured for the value of what they paid for him so they will get a good 14m or whatever from the insurers
