November 21, 200816 yr I like this song, it's another cover. I didn't realise how many there were on this album (3 I think) until recently. I almost entered her Jools Holland performance of this to the BJSC but since she performed it on the same night as 'Black Butta' I thought that'd be a bit cheap.
November 21, 200816 yr Author I only found out it was a cover when i heard Joss Stone signing it with someone on Live Earth or The Diana Concert, one of those two anyway.
November 21, 200816 yr I remember Simply Red released a version of it in about 1999/2000. My Mum likes them. :puke2: That's not the original though, just the one I knew. Beverley's is sooooo much better.
November 22, 200816 yr Author A quick google search tells me Tom Jones had a song named Aint That A Lot Of Love, not sure if thats the original or the same song though.
November 22, 200816 yr Tom Jones doesn't sound like someone she'd cover but who knows? He's not exactly 'old school soul' which is what she was trying to do for this album. Then again, I think 'Time Is On My Side' was by someone like the Rolling Stones but that might be because Ronnie Wood did a lot of guitar on MCS.
November 22, 200816 yr Author I really do think she should have gone with Aint That A Lot Of Love as 3rd single really. Really the MCS era should have gone 1. Black Butta 2. No Mans Land 3. After You 4. Aint That A Lot Of Love Had they used BB, the era's sucsess could have been a lot different
November 23, 200816 yr I think Black Butta would have definitely been the best lead single. I'm not sure After You was right at all, it got good airplay but it didn't translate to sales. I think it should have gone: 1) Black Butta 2) Ain't That A Lot Of Love 3) No Man's Land
November 23, 200816 yr Author Yeah, i was convinced After You would go top 40 based on how much airplay it got. Final 3 shall be announced tomorrow
November 24, 200816 yr It was such a shame, I hope she can recover from that flop. :( Black Butta FTW. :D
November 24, 200816 yr I only found out it was a cover when i heard Joss Stone signing it with someone on Live Earth or The Diana Concert, one of those two anyway. She sang it with Tom Jones
November 24, 200816 yr Author Results later tonight! The exitement is amazing is it now LOL I guess that means Tom did the original then.

November 25, 200816 yr I agree with you Aled :( Edit : Although tbh it at times it can be a buzz when you find yourself back to square 1 in situations Edited November 25, 200816 yr by Simon.
November 25, 200816 yr Edit : Although tbh it at times it can be a buzz when you find yourself back to square 1 in situations Like Bev at the beginning of every era it seems. -_- I dunno I just LOVE it, possibly my fave song ever tbh. It was the song that got me into her and I love the lyrics. Even though I've never really had to start over again it's so uplifting for me if I'm feeling down. LOL :(

It's a sad thing that I'd have been happy with that era, but compared to #43/#131/DNC that's excellent. :(
