October 1, 200816 yr Phew, I'm glad to see there's a fair gap between Will and James, but I'm a bit disappointed about the figure for Will. :(
October 1, 200816 yr Author Phew, I'm glad to see there's a fair gap between Will and James, but I'm a bit disappointed about the figure for Will. :( Why? Check out the sales week figures for positions 1 & 2 this year. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index...howtopic=62054 The market has changed drastically since the release of KO. Will is more than holding his own. LIG will end up with really good sales but it's just going to take longer. This album will sell by word of mouth. It's pure class.
October 1, 200816 yr I'm very pleased with the sales so far. It's worth remembering that male solo singers have had particularly bad times lately (unless it's been immediately off of XFactor). None of us knew how Will would be recieved 3 years on, and the single sales last week got the old nerves jangling, however, it was as we hoped and suspected, Will has matured into primarily an album artist and live performer ,which I'm sure is just where he wants to be right now. :D

October 1, 200816 yr TT, that link doesn't work for me. I don't know, I guess I was hoping he'd do 100k in a week. With so many albums being released during the last quarter, I'm just afraid that it will sink without a trace after a couple of weeks, and if that happens, I'm not sure how it'll reach the 500k mark, which it will need to reach, really, for Will to go on to album no. 5.
October 1, 200816 yr He should do around 60k this week, not bad, not great neither, but it's still very good.

Sorry Toni but apart from Coldplay & KOL nobody is shifting 1st week sales of 100k & I don't share your pessimism about Will not reaching enough sales for a fifth album. If that's the case there'll be very few artists left with contracts come the turn of the year. I'm sure the last Shayne Ward, Lemar, Kylie Minnogue, Girls Aloud to name just a few haven't shifted 500k but are still in the music business. Will will have huge promo round the time of his next release & will capitalise on Xmas sales. Here's a new link. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62054 Edited October 1, 200816 yr by truly talented
October 2, 200816 yr OK, TT, you've reassured me a bit. :) The good thing about being a pessimist is, you're more likely to be positively surprised. ;)

Well maybe this time, his sales will include more than just domestic ones ;) We'll just have to wait and see if anything comes from the Music Week report that suggested Will would be looking outside of the UK with this album, especially towards the US next year. It could happen :D
October 2, 200816 yr Author Just been thinking are performances on JR & SCD usually pre-recordered as Will is going to be pretty tied up with the tour leading up to the release of Grace.
October 2, 200816 yr Just been thinking are performances on JR & SCD usually pre-recordered as Will is going to be pretty tied up with the tour leading up to the release of Grace. SCD is live on the Saturday, Sunday's result show is recorded on the Saturday too. So Will needs a free Saturday :D JR is recorded the night before transmission. And a free Thursday. :D

And a free Thursday. :D Thanks Marguerite. I can see a free Saturday on the 6th but no Thursday but then again the tour finishes on the 13th so they'll be opportunities the week the single is released. :) I feel sure Will & his management will have carefully laid plans. We already know of the This Morning appearance. :D
October 2, 200816 yr Author Will still at #2 in the midweeks. :yahoo: Thought he would be but it's nice to have it confirmed. :D
October 2, 200816 yr Will still at #2 in the midweeks. :yahoo: Thought he would be but it's nice to have it confirmed. :D Thanks TT, I'm pleased about that, I've been itching to get on here all morning, but family obligations and helping a neighbour out, (she has 5 shih-tzu and the eldest has had a stroke :( ) so I was looking after the others while she went to the vets, she's ok for now thankfully.
October 2, 200816 yr Will still at #2 in the midweeks. :yahoo: Thought he would be but it's nice to have it confirmed. :D I wish we could get a little update on the sales. It would be nice to know if he's making any ground on KOL or not. Or more importantly probably, is whether he looks like holding on to the #2 spot for the rest of the week. Young Andrew Johnston has crept up a spot.
