Posted October 3, 200816 yr Ok, i thought Machine Head opening for Slipknot was good but in Febuary Testament and Megadeth are opening for Judas Priest. Now thats a f***ing good line-up. any other fans of these three bands?
October 3, 200816 yr im not too keen on Judas Preist, and i havent really heard Testament but Megadeth are amazing, and are also meant to be excellent live.
October 4, 200816 yr Author im not too keen on Judas Preist, and i havent really heard Testament but Megadeth are amazing, and are also meant to be excellent live. Priest for me are the worst band there, lol. If you like Megadeth's first 4 albums you'll love Testament, they're a better band in my opinion. Megadeth were good live when i saw them at Download 2007 but not amazing.

October 9, 200816 yr Priest although pretty legendary, I was never really a big fan of.. Megadeth kinda went off the boil for me as well a bit in the 90s, although some of the 00s stuff sounds not too bad, Testament were criminally under-rated... But I think all in all, I'll go with the Slipknot/Machine Head/Children of Bodom triple header... Although, that will have to go some to beat the Paradise Lost/My Dying Bride/Anathema triple header I went to at the Forum a few weeks back....

A friend of mine bought me a ticket along with hers, she wanted to go, but didn't want to go on her own.... I was skint at the time too, so she said she'd help out...

October 9, 200816 yr I'm seeing Slipknot/Machine Head at Sheffield arena. Hammersmith Apollo for me mate... SHEFFIELD!!!! That's nowhere near Derby...... You'd've been as well coming to the London gig mate if you're gonna travel for miles and miles.....
October 9, 200816 yr lucky, i really want to see slipknot before they stop, . I cant see them stopping any time soon though... Although, I would rather they maybe do a fifth album then stop, rather than keep on going on doing patchy albums like Korn have been doing for about the past five years or so.... I really think they should've stopped after "Untouchables" because everything since then has been really hit or miss.....

October 9, 200816 yr I heard Slipknot plan on stopping after 'All Hope Is Gone'. A shame really, but it's a really good high to go out on though.... "All Hope Is Gone" is probably the best album they've done so far IMO, really focused, tight as fukk, and quite brilliant, almost on a par with Machine Head's "The Blackening" I reckon. One of my "Albums of the Year" to be honest... I'm definitely impressed by it, and it takes a LOT to impress me..... This meeting of Machine Head and Slipknot could turn out to be as amazing as the Slayer/Slipknot meeting a few years back... And believe me I fukkin' LOVED that one..... It's good to see a band like Slipknot touring with bands which are on the same level as them, or indeed legendary (as Slayer are...) it kind of keeps them on their game dunnit...? Far too often I see bands touring with poor acts and I always feel that this is complacent of them, and they dont really try, know what I mean...? Slipknot touring with the likes of Machine Head or Children of Bodom ensures that all bands are gonna be wanting to do their best, which makes for a really exciting night out...... I think it's a similar thing with "Priest Feast" too.... You've got 3 pretty legendary bands here kind of slugging it out as it were....

October 9, 200816 yr Author almost on a par with Machine Head's "The Blackening" I reckon. As much as i like it, it is not a touch on The Blackening imo.
October 9, 200816 yr As much as i like it, it is not a touch on The Blackening imo. I did say almost John... There's precious few Metal albums released in the past five years that are as good as "The Blackening"..... The last Celtic Frost album "Monotheist" was one, the last Tool album "10,000 Days" was another, I liked Mastodon and Lamb of God's recent ones too.... The recent Opeth album "Watershed" was on a par as well.... "All Hope is Gone" is a damn good album.... Better than any previous ones that the 'Knot have done I reckon....
