November 15, 200816 yr That's pretty much it in a nutshell... First album is okay....ish... Still kind of watered-down AFI though, but after this, oh dear - absolute whiny, p!ss-poor, emo-boy bollocks for which a good slap is the only answer....  I loved what Emma-electric said on The Cure thread about Good Charlotte and MCR. "when I heard The Cure, I just couldn't take them bands seriously anymore...."...  I found that comment rather amusing too, which is why younguns want to skip the emo phase and go staright into actual emo (as in emotional music, not a genre for kiddies who pretend they have feelings so silt there wrists) like The Cure and the Smiths. Btw, Sharon has collaborated with dance dj, Armin van Buuren: TxvpctgU_s8  good way to try to get off the MCR topic

November 15, 200816 yr I know emo girls who cut themselves on their ankles and shoulders, and then walk around in the mall with skimpy tops and mini skirts showing it off. . .  give them an album called Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me it will change their poor excuse for a life.
November 16, 200816 yr I know emo girls who cut themselves on their ankles and shoulders, and then walk around in the mall with skimpy tops and mini skirts showing off how 'they nearly died for what they brought upon themselves'. . . . These people are attention-seeking arseholes.... I utterly despise them... "ooooh look at me, I'm so depreeeesssssed, my parents dont understand me".. You just wanna say to them "Fukk off kid, you dont even KNOW what real depression is.....", people who really suffer from depression and mental illness are secretive, they dont make a big show of things.... I knew a girl who cut herself when I was young, you know how I found out, by being so bloody concerned for her welfare one night after she'd been in the toilet at a party for ages, me and a mate had to bust down the fukkin' door to find her lying in a pool of her own fukkin' BLOOD, she'd cut herself so deep, lacerating one of the major veins in her leg, she passed out..... She'd had scars all over her legs and arms and NONE of us knew about it (she always wore baggy jumpers and black jeans, she was a Cure fan, so we just thought she was copying Bob).... See what I mean, secretive.... Six months later, she took an overdose and died, apparently she'd been abused by her uncle as a kid, and no one believed her (I got all that from her brother).... It still upsets me to think about... Which is why I have absolutely nothing but contempt for these fukkin' EMOS.....
November 16, 200816 yr give them an album called Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me it will change their poor excuse for a life. Or indeed "Pornography", "Disintegration", "Unknown Pleasures" or "Meat Is Murder"..... Â

Okay, some Emo's are genuinely sad and have a troubled past, but the WannabEmo's are a bunch of tools who need a kick up the arse. Anywhore. Back on topic. I like that song with Sharon and the DJ! It's nice!  Â
November 17, 200816 yr Author What an understatement! It's amazing! And I thought David Guetta's 'Baby When The Light' was the only dance song I would ever love :o
November 17, 200816 yr Btw, Sharon has collaborated with dance dj, Armin van Buuren: TxvpctgU_s8 I heard that last June  , can't believe it's got 5 million views on youtube now though, must've been successful in europe :o . And Katherine Baby When The Light is really quite bad compared to his other songs, like Delirious: wiG-TgYjHP8 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wiG-TgYjHP8 Though you might not like it. These people are attention-seeking arseholes.... Which is why I have absolutely nothing but contempt for these fukkin' EMOS..... :(  Emo is just a cult, it has lost it's original meaning. Depending on how you classify it, it wasn't influenced by anyone at all because it was quite secretive, it was bought about by depression. I guess emo music is just a "specialised" sort of depressing music, which can make you feel better when you're down, well at least when i am (Radiohead- Creep). Self harm can be a cry out for help, which is i reckon depression shows, but you don't have to use words.
November 18, 200816 yr Emo is just a cult, it has lost it's original meaning. Emo used to refer to "Emotional Hardcore Punk" (a softer shade than the Straight-Edge Punk such as Fugazi and Bad Brains) which was charcterised by band such as Johnny Truant, Jimmy Eat World, AFI and At The Drive In... GOOD bands, playing GOOD music, not whiny, weedy Pop/Rock sh!te like MCR, Wheatus, Good Charlotte and Fall Out Boy...... <_<  It has indeed completely lost its original meaning and ethos... Cutting, I guess, could be seen as a cry for help, but what Katherine describes with these bloody "mall rats" is what I despise, attention-seeking, using self-mutilation almost as a bloody fashion statement or as some bizarre replacement for body piercing; it has nothing to do with being genuinely depressed and being abused as my friend was...
November 18, 200816 yr Oh, I liked Jimmy Eat World! I never got the chance to see them in concert, though. Pity, that. :(Â My friend doesn't approve of Sharon singing "In and Out of Love" :P But he does like the fact that she still does that thing with her hands like she does in WT videos and concerts :P

November 18, 200816 yr Yeah, but I can't see myself going to concerts seeing as I have to travel 200 miles to get to the main venues. When they were huge, I lived quite close to where they always played, but I was "too young" to go to their concerts. Now, living on the other side of the country is a huge disadvantage as it costs an arm and a leg for a train ticket. :( :( Â I think I have a few albums somewhere. They went in a box when we were moving and I never saw that box again... -_- Â Â Â Â Â
November 19, 200816 yr Author Oh, I liked Jimmy Eat World! I never got the chance to see them in concert, though. Pity, that. :(Â My friend doesn't approve of Sharon singing "In and Out of Love" :P But he does like the fact that she still does that thing with her hands like she does in WT videos and concerts :P  I think she really made 'In And Out Of Love' her own. If were on an album such as 'The Silent Force' I'd say it still would be perfect and suitable for her style of singing. It's quite amazing and the dance added to it is brilliant. So I disapprove of your friend disapproving of Sharon featuring on the song. Quite in love with it at the moment along with Forgiven.
