Posted October 5, 200816 yr Maroon 5 ‘Decisions’ After the continued support from fans, we felt it would unfair to make them wait so long for another album. From the initial release of ‘Song About Jane’ to ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’ it took us over 3 years. None of us are getting any younger, by the time another three years pass by we will all be in our thirties. Despite extensive touring we have already started work on our next album, nothing official yet just some scribbles on pieces of paper. We want to have a slightly more open minded approach to our third album, a more sophisticated mind set and songs not necessarily about being in an out of love but more so life experience and history. ‘Songs About Jane’ was quite literally an album filled with love songs for at the time my beloved Jane. Obviously there were some songs about falling out of love but I specifically made sure she knew those weren’t about her, because you know I didn’t want her getting any ideas. ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’ was all based around the time we spent touring with the first album and how we missed our loved ones. When we start writing an album we like to have a name in mind to base things around which inspires concepts around it. Currently, we have come up with the idea of ‘decisions’ just relating with our open mind concept. The title doesn’t really seem instant or memorable but right now it is working for us. ‘Songs About Jane’ was slightly more rocky than ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’. After trying the more pop sound we feel we were meant to be more of a pop rock band; songs like ‘This Love’ suit us better than the likes of ‘Makes Me Wonder’. Plus, my falsetto is feeling the strain after the current tour. I think this article must be extracted from an interview rathe rthan just a speech. It seems very blocky and doesn't flow. :P Nice to see that they are already starting work on the next album, I hope it won't be as long to wait as the last one but I don't think three years is that long to wait. 'Decisions' is quite a nice name in my opinion, I hope they stick to it. Much better than It Won't Be Soon Before Long and Songs About Jane. Edited April 24, 200916 yr by Angelic Shine
October 5, 200816 yr :o I love MMW and TL, so it's hard to say which is better for me. I think Decisions is a good title. I love It Won't Be Soon Before Long as a title. :wub:
