I'm pretty sure there were recorders with harddrives which had VCR playback and the capacity to edit/record from the VCR available when i was looking for mine.

 

I didn't buy one because I thought that at some point it would be full and I'd have to erase things I didn't want to.

No, I want the software to enable me to play and record from my vcr onto the hard drive on my pc - and then copy it to dvd after I'd edited it.

I've only got to the stage of recording to DVD. I haven't progressed to downloading music or video from the net yet. As usual, it will take Darius to make me take that leap.

 

IF the only way to get a new song from Darius is to download it , then I'll buy an i-pod or some such and learn how to do it.

Our son-in-law has put Spybot and NoAdware5 on my computer. It already had the free version of AVG.

Have you got a firewall Bramley (other than the windows one)? If not, get Zone Alarm put on and Zone Alarm Spy Blocker.

How vital is Zone Alarm Spy Blocker?

Well, I was going to take my Mum home tomorrow but, Dave has told me he'll be away from 6:30 to 23:00 on Wednesday -and the dog would have kittens (may make a fortune there) I'm now going on Thursday.
