My computer expert decamped to Canada a year ago.

However, perhaps all is not lost. I think I recall my neighbour saying that her daughter in Australia was able to go online and diagnose and fix problems on her other daughter's computer in Scotland, so maybe he'd be able to do the same if I was in dire technical straits.

My computer is going away for a few days soon - I'm a bit fed up with it at the moment - and I do know a lot of the problem is because I've filled both the hard discs.
I absolutely hate being without my computer - It's my newspaper, encyclopedia, dictionary, calculator, personal organiser, terrestial TV, you name it - I get really edgy if my isp goes down.
At least the USB sockets should work. I really don't want to delete things from either of my hard drive - he'll see if another could be added.

Have you all finished the technical talk yet? Then I might just be able to join in again.

Oh dear, I didn't mean that to sound as rude as it does. It was meant to be funny.

In the Artists' Forum League we have now gone UP to number 3 place !!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been tied up a lot with various family crises.

At least the roofers say they found cause of the water coming in through my new roof and they've fixed it.

Apparently it was the seal around my neighbour's brand new aerial which wasn't fixed firmly enough and the exceptionally strong winds made the aerial move too much and let the equally heavy torrent do its worst.

He says I've to keep an eye on it. He can bet his boots I will.

You'll know when the water starts pouring onto your head. It's a good way of spotting it.
The bbc news site has that today we will experience heavy showers in this area. Why do I ever bother to look at their weather? Bright sunshine all day, no rain. I should know they atr always wrong.

"Raindrops keep Falling On My Head"

Good song from a great movie and taken into the charts here by Sacha Distel , who later played Billy Flynn in Chicago. I just can't imagine that - didn't Sacha's English use to be quite strongly accented.

my parents had thick snow where they live. I want to hibernate.
I don't like snow. I can't imagine Sacha making a good Billy Flynn. Another one my Mum used to like though. And, yes, is accent was always strong when speaking English.
well we had a nice blizzard all last evening, could hardly see when driving my daughter back from town, and wycombes football match was called off - it is still white this morning,
I'd rather just settle for the sun. I hate driving in snow. one year i ended up driving behind a snow plough. there was no sign of snow when i set out and within 70 miles it was thick. Still hadn't snowed at home though.
