I do hope all your pets make a speedy recovery.

Did anyone else persevere with the load of rubbish on Comic Relief last night? For a special occasion I hoped for better quality

sketches. David Tennant was a willing, but unimpressive presenter (as he himself acknowledged) but I enjoyed his appearance

onstage with one of the rock bands in the Top of the Pops C.R. special (repeated this evening at 10pm, I think). He postured

all the approved stances of a guitar player, very amusing.

No, I didn't persevere with Comic Relief. I was disappointed in David Tennant as a presenter. He's an acclaimed actor. He could surely have scintillated a bit even if he had to fake it.

It's not easy to present a live TV show but others, including Darius, have made a much better fist of it.

I thought David Tennant was a complete letdown........he just stood there like a lemon. I expected him to put far more into it, but he

seemed completely at a loss most of the time.

Ha, come on, its not about that, is it really?

Its to raise money to save peoples lifes at the end of the day.

Surely, we can forgive the less than perfect presentation, here, and enter the spirit?

I think it's just that we don't see it very often. It's one of the most difficult things, to stand up in front of a crowd, or of cameras and pretend it's all normal.

I remember John Cleese refused to do anything unscripted.

Thank goodness others are willing to step out of their normal roles in a good cause. It just surprised me that DT with all his acting

talent was so subdued.

The film clips, as usual, were very emotional and very well made. Whoever gave six million pounds anonymously?

Congratulations Meg and Pam, thats great news for you both! :cheer:

Aww i hope your cats are better again soon Baytree, and Dane too Meg! :)

The spirit was to raise/donate money for a very good cause. Done and dusted!

I don't see why I should then be condemned to watch DT standing around like a knotless thread for what seemed like an eternity or that unfunny James Corden churning out a load of schoolboy humour surrounded by a bunch of gormless footballers.

I know what amuses me doesn't other people and what amuses some doesn't me. At least my friends can laugh at me not being amused.
I know what it's not for me - Ricky Gervais, James Corden, Al Murray, Russell Brand, Jo Brand, Lucas and Walliams, that McIntyre guy and a whole host of others whose names have gone straight over my head, who don't raise one titter. all those who think it's enough to string some topical quips together with repeated swear words, puerile sexual references and toilet humour.
I enjoyed the programme on Thursday evening which followed the group climbing Kilimanjaro. I recorded some of Friday's programme so iI could flick through it for the Take That performance. Bit disappointed with the Mama Mia sketch . Glad it raised such a huge amount of money though. Sue

I couldnt agree more, thats exactly what I think and the names that I agree with. I watched the apprentice bit of comic relief but Jonathon ross does my head in, cant stand him, always got to be the centre of attention so it was spoilt for me, I juast wanted him gone preferably permanently.

The sad thing is that even though more money has been raised this year it will not buy the same amount of aid that the lesser money of 2007 bought,.........money has lost so much of its value.

Aww i hope you meet up with Nina again very soon Meg(hug).Me and Bri are going down to visit Wendy(Mockingbird) and her Hubby Paul during the Summer Hols,we're really looking forward to that! :cheer:

When everyone speaks of meeting up with others, i really start missing Helen again :( ,especially texting her, and the jokes we used to send eachother .Still cant beleive that we're never see her again! :(
