I think putting him in the car would be really bad. Dave likes having him at home or else he's left alone - that doesn't suit either. That dog has us on a peice of string - he knows exactly what to do to get sympathy. I love my dog but my Mum comes first.

we had really bad black ice this morning, couldnt get daughter to school till ten, and we are only down the road - I couldnt get the car down to the main road, and we tried twice at intervals to walk up the hill, but it was sheet ice pavement and road! it isnt worth risking it, the old lady down the road went out at nine and slipped over immediately, we couldnt even get out there to help her as we couldnt keep our footing outside, people were standing at the bottom of the hill as they couldnt walk up it - and there was a prang up when a car slid into the back of a parked one just up from us as we were trying to walk to school the second time, frighterned daughter to death! even the dustmen had trouble in their lorry, and they were slipping over getting the bins. I hope we dont get too much of this!

That sounds dreadful. I hate it when it's like that because with a crutch I haven't got a chance. During tonight here (Bolton) it's supposed to be dropping to the coldest it's been yet!! Sue
Mum isn't far from you. I hope she has more sense than to go out. I'll be there on Saturday and I hate driving in snow and ice.
its getting cold again - it would be ok if the council gritted the roads! I suggested we use the grit up the hill to grit up the pavement, but hubby said you dont dare touch the outside in case someone slips and sues you - shame, I recall a time when all the neighbours were outside doing their stretch - it meant the whole road was done and then no one slipped, fingers crossed it isnt as bad tomorrow -
The forecast is bad, Pip. Hope you manage alright.

I usually salt my front and if we've had snow always clear it...as do the neighbours
It's the actual footpaths at Mum. They r did them with a tarmac which is impossible to walk on in winter.

Just a sprinkling of snow this morning, but nothing too bad. Hope your mums ok. Sue

That's like the ice we had a short while ago. I was eventually able to inch my way on foot to the local shop and buy some de-icing salt. I just put the whole lot down............ on our path and made a thin path way up the pavement as far as I could go.

It's downright stupid that able bodied people can't help like they did in the past, because some people are "no win, no fee" merchants.

It's such a shame we caught the suing but here. Off to Mum's. talk to you later in the week.
Hope Dave copes with Dane while you're away.

Meg got to her mum's OK.

I'm going to see them tomorrow.

I'm sure Dane and David will look after each other :)

In the Artists Forums League we have gone up from 15 to 6 !!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

I can hardly snatch any time on my PC. My son's hogging it most of the time we're actually in, to do his work and I don't seem to be able to stay up as long I used to do in order to outlast him. I suppose it's the price I have to pay for having him here so long - swings and roundabouts. It's worth it.

Of course your son takes precedence over the computer, BT. Enjoy his company while you have the chance.

How about using your laptop........or is that defunct ?
