Sorry to hear you have more bad news meg.

In answer to Surrogate, yes I did see Bet midler singing from a distance and I do like her but some seem to think she was not singing live. I do however love Ds version much more, much richer sound.

It's probably my fault it's a bad year for us because i was daft enough to say it couldn't be worse than 2008.

I prefer the version Bette did many years ago of 'From A Distance'

I absolutly LOVE Darius' version of 'From a distance',he sang it so Amasingly on SOP and i LOVE him singing deeply......SOOOOO Sexy!!

I'd love to hear him singing it for us live at a gig!!

On the contrary, I thought Bette was singing live and that she sounded quite hoarse and dropped a lot of the notes lower than she would normally sing them. I thought it was a brave performance but nothing like her best.

Darius's is my second favourite next to Bette's, because he didn't sing the whole song. He/BBC? missed out one of my favourite parts. "We are all instruments marching in a common band etc."

I'm not sure I've heard any other version of the song from a baritone.

I'm not impressed with John Barrowman's version

Cliff's I find more pleasant to listen to, although I've never liked that "whisper" singing he does quite often..

I preferred previous versions of Bette's. I would like to her Darius' at a gig but wasn't overkeen on the arrangement on sop

Well done Pam, there will be no stopping you now.
Oh no, another mad biker. You'll be dropping in in leathers. I'm told they turn on a lot of men so you'll have to be careful.

Congratulations, spamfritter.

There are so many songs I'd like to hear Darius sing at gigs, including most of the b-sides, all of his acoustic demos and all of Live Twice, that he'd need to do an all-nighter to fit them in and he could throw in a few covers and MT standards as encores, if he liked.

I still need a lot of practice....still very unsure at times, but it will come.

I'd love to hear all his songs then I'll let him know which to sing again...... :D

I might have to take a comfort break during I Would Die For You.

If you all had to give one of his songs a side swerve, for the same reason, which would you choose?

I think I may beat you there during that song....

...infact if he's not taking a break it may be a good idea if he sings it a few times....

I would have to take a break during that song as well.

Took my son to the airport this morning. He's flying to Canada for job interviews.

One of those.......you want him to succeed but don't want him to go

He's hoping to get a few days skiing at Banff between interviews.

He's just phoned to say he's going to the gate :(

Congratulations, spamfritter.
