I got fruit and mini snack chocolate for our callers but we only had 2 lots.

Last year we had loads and most of the girls went for the fruit

So I m now having to eat up the left overs......funnily enough the chocolate is going faster than the fruit....

Did you have any visitors on Mischief Night ( Nov 1st) also known as Mizzy night ?
If the rain doesn't ease off none of tomorrow's bonfires will burn!

I've never heard of Mischief Night.

November 1st was always All Saints Day.

There don't seem to be so many fireworks going off every night so far this year. Maybe that's a sign that there is some control over their sale.

Of course in Scotland we have another celebration, 30th November -Saint Andrews Day

Some year I hope they'll have Darius on a St Andrews night or Burns night show - I'd love to hear what he can do with some of the really haunting traditional songs. With his range he'd do them proud I'm sure.

We've had loads of fireworks going off every night. I feel so sorry for the animals.

I'm feeling sorry not only for the animals, but also for the children. A beautiful crisp dry evening can add so much to Bonfire

Night pleasure. At least many fires are now organised for safety reasons. But I still recall, with great nostalgia, the small

private celebrations in our own back gardens, or the localised small community gatherings. Nowadays hundreds of people

gather to watch organised firework displays, but our enjoyment of a single Catherine Wheel or Golden Fountain had to be

felt to be believed.

We still do some years. I must say that I'm not that enthusiastic about them but my husband is and it is his birthday.
He's not had a good morning. His car was serviced and it's going to be expensive.

Ouch! Not the way to start the day!

I see Lewis Hamilton is back in the UK to thank the McLaren team. My admiration for him has nose-dived since I learned he is to

reside in Switzerland in order to dodge paying UK taxes. I have no respect for the high-earners who do this.

At his age, it'sogften done taking the advice of older people they respect. Too early to judge him yet I think.
I like the way that Darius' myspace has the 5 featured songs under the title ' songs by Darius'
I can't get any of Darius' songs to play on his bebo page. I just fanciedm listening to 'Now or never'

There have been far fewer fireworks set off in our area this year (apart from the big displays). Wonder if this is because of the

economic situation (money shortage) or whether peoople are holding back till the weekend, hoping for better weather. At least

I've heard of no fatalities or serious burn injuries, thank goodness.

Don't high earners pay over 40% tax......that's almost half your wage!

I never look at how much tax I pay....it's too depressing :(
