October 11, 200816 yr I really do hope it is at least as good as Patience Yes, i know what you mean. I too am afraid it might be a totally c**p song. Hope the boys will prove me wrong and the song is even better than Patience and Rule The World put together. I wonder if it's another ballad or not. The journalist from the Daily Star said" it picks up nicely from where Rule The World left off".Sounds like another romantic ballad to me.

The journalist from the Daily Star said" it picks up nicely from where Rule The World left off".Sounds like another romantic ballad to me. An acquaintance from another site actually knows someone who has heard it! They've said its along the lines of a 'rock ballad'. I've still got an awful feeling that with this build-up it has had .... it has to be nothing short of brilliant and I'm not sure it will be! It may be good ... but after this build-up just being 'good' is not enough. Norma
October 11, 200816 yr Im sure it will be really good - its got to be for them to carry on as being as big as they have become
October 12, 200816 yr I love rock ballads! So I hope then that I will like this one too :cheer: (but i have also a lot of rock ballads which i think are plain , boring and middle-of-the-rock-ballad-way :naughty: ). But with this "rock" ballad thing and the comparision with Snow Patrol and Coldplay, does it mean that Mark has more influence now :teresa: - as that was his style in his solo days? (LOL, just asking retorically here, don't shut me and don't take it as a bad omen).
October 12, 200816 yr maybe its a step in marks direction but i would doubt it as that is to far removed from what take that do as a group
October 13, 200816 yr Author Well I heard it this morning ... and it isn't a patch on Patience let alone Rule The World. Its OK - but not great! Thank heavens Gary has redeemed himself with 'The Winner's Song' from Geraldine from the Peter Kay show last night! Brilliant. Moyles likes it too - played several times already. Norma
October 13, 200816 yr I like it, maybe not as instant as Patience/RTW but the chorus is strong, even if the verses are a bit limp
October 13, 200816 yr Author I like it, maybe not as instant as Patience/RTW but the chorus is strong, even if the verses are a bit limp But to me ... there is no chorus .... its just one long verse ... and the lyrics are very 'samey'. Hate to say it .... but if I buy the single it'll be depending how good the 'b' track is! I have only heard it the once though ... so I may change my mind. But I loved Patience the very first time I heard it (and I didn't even know it was Take That when I heard it the first time). Mind you .... I didn't like Rule The World until about the third listen! Norma
October 13, 200816 yr Author Pete - I don't think anywhere in Ireland bothered playing the song today ... so there's a link to the Chris Moyles show here for you. The phone-in with Gary starts at around 1.40 mins in and then the song is played towards the end of the interview. Really funny interview. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chrismoyles/ Norma

Norma Patience took about three listens for me Shine was instant, I bought Beautiful World on the day of release and it stood out straight away Rule The World took a couple of weeks before I realised its brilliance
October 13, 200816 yr nice song but still a bit weird.. maybe need original version to listen to get it.... BUT STILL IT IS FROM TAKE THAT
October 13, 200816 yr Its not a superhit at all, but still nice. Its very pleasant, but i,for one, wouldn't release it as a lead single. Its more of an album track,i guess.

I would agree with that. I think it'll get to number 1 but as I've posted elsewhere - it won't sell near as many copies as Patience or RTW - it may just sell more copies than Shine. Norma
October 13, 200816 yr I hope it does, Norma. First listen, I wasn't that impressed. Now, I heard it 5 times and I like it more and more. Dare to be different.
October 13, 200816 yr Author I hope it does, Norma. First listen, I wasn't that impressed. Now, I heard it 5 times and I like it more and more. Dare to be different. I've just listened to Fearne playing it - so this is the third time - I am beginning to warm to it. I'm going to have to wait until I have the physical copy though so I can listen for different bits of it. Maybe its too different to anything they've done previously and I'm not sure I like change too much. Still I suppose I should respect them for trying something new. Norma
October 13, 200816 yr Maybe its too different Yes, it's different from their previous releases, so what? There're no "an instant hit'' feel to it at all. It doesn't depend on their style or the genre of the song.Would it be number one elsewhere except for the Uk? I doubt it.
