Soo the much hyped 3D live adaption of 'The Adentures of Alice in Wonderland' has just gone into production. The cast list is pretty good. Unknown Mia Wasikowska is playing Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen and in a suprising piece of casting, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Matt Lucas, Christopher Lee and Matt Sheen also have unconfirmed roles at the moment.

Should be an excellent adaption from Tim Burton. His take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was v.good, and his films in general are normally very good.

This is one film where the 3D technology is going to work absolutely marvellously, and will hopefully compliment the film as opposed to being the one selling point of a rather weak movie (as was the case with the awful "Journey to the Centre of the Earth".. But with Tim Burton's obsessive attention to detail, set-design and mise en scene I really do think that we could be in for something quite bloody fantastic and mind-bending, Burton is an artist as opposed to a hack, so I've not got so many fears for this one.... I'm really hoping for something along the dark lines of the original story, and the quite amazing computer game "American McGee's Alice", which was a sequel of sorts, and for a computer game had a seriously compelling and involving storyline....

I'm so excited about this!

I love all Tim Burton's work and having Johnny Depp as one of the main characters is just a major bonus!

Not sure how Anne Hathaway is going to pull of being the White Queen, but i'm guessing she's going to be good to be cast in such a huge movie!

Should be fantastic!

And, oh, look, Johnny Depp, HBC and Tim Burton working together! Shocking

They're kind of a company though innit...? I've no objection to directors using the same or similar companies of actors, especially if it works well for them... The Coen Brothers have had the likes of Frances McDormand, John Turturro and George Clooney in several of their films, and oh, look Clooney and McDormand are back again for their new one.... And how many times did Scorcese work with De Niro or Pesci....?

I'm skeptical to be honest. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was utterly forgettable to me, despite its merits, because it was a remake no one asked for. I'm afraid this could be the same thing...

I love Tim Burton. His movie style is so creative. This movie should be amazing. But why 3D? Does that mean when I buy it on DVD, I have to wear the stupid glasses when I want to watch it in my room? Please, no.

Helena Bonham Carter.... :w00t: And Johnny Depp should be awesome too. Surprised Anne Hathaway was cast, but I'm sure she'll be marvelous.
