Posted October 14, 200816 yr I saw the trailer of Quarantine a couple of months ago, and it loks like it's out in the USA, I don't when will it be released in Europe, but I like these kind of horror/thriller movies. It looks like this is another film that is made by '1 camera' a la Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield, but this time the 'video' is made by a professional cameraman. Trailer: fDphD47xS2A What do you think, is it any good? Is it worth to watch it? Maybe anyone has seen it already?
October 14, 200816 yr I would like to see this! It entered at number 2 in the US! Go check the Official Charts in this Sub-Forum - It's Pinned  (Little Plug there :heehee:)

October 14, 200816 yr Yeah, it's a remake of a Spanish film (or a European film anyway) called Rec. I've been interested in watching it for some time, but i'm not keen on subtitled films, so when I heard about the American remake I thought it'd just watch it. It does seem good, another different take on the Zombie outlook of horror. But from watching the trailer I kinda feel I already know what's going to happen, and add to the fact it's a hand camera movie (or supposed to be) and we all know what happens in those films...
October 14, 200816 yr I have seen the original Spanish Rec (I don't mind watching subtitled films) and it was excellent. I'm kinda in between whether I should go to see the American version to a movie theatre, download it or wait until it is out on dvd. It is almost Halloween time so this could get me into the Halloween mood but then again I guess my Halloween tradition has been and will be again the latest Saw flick (V).
October 15, 200816 yr I watched this last night. Really enjoyed the first 2/3rds of the film, but there's way too many characters in it imo for a handheld film. You lose track of all the characters, and the the last 10 minutes are really weird too. I don't really understand it. But still, an enjoyable flick...

I think I wanna watch it :D
October 16, 200816 yr Doesn't the film end with the woman being pulled away from the camera? Weird they'd put the ending in the trailer. =/ That's how [Rec] ends at least.
October 17, 200816 yr Another utterly POINTLESS remake.... And the haste in which this has been done is, to say the least, indecent.... Remakes really are just the "manufactured pop" of film-making, just an admission by mainstream Hollywood that they have no fresh ideas, nowhere to go, nothing to say. The sheer proliferation of these remakes in the past five years says everything.... And of course, it aint just the foreign language films that get this treatment, past Hollywood works are in the line of fire as well... Anyone who's had to suffer the entirely useless remakes of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Amityville Horror", "Black X-Mas", "Day of the Dead" and "The Hitcher" will know what I'm talking about..... Horror is my favourite film genre, and frankly, I am sick of seeing it debased in this manner.... I'd rather the US (and Japan as well come to think of it, "J-Horror" is becoming increasingly more and more sterile..) stopped all production on Horror films for the next five years and then come back with something fresh, exciting and different... If the French can make absolutely marvellous horror films such as "Frontiers", "Haute Tension", "Martyrs", "The Ordeal" and "Ils", and the Spanish come up with "El Orfanato", "The Devil's Backbone" and "[Rec]" but do so more sparingly, then surely this is much better than just killing the genre with more and more worthless dreck.....

October 18, 200816 yr Tragic. Does it even matter with this genre of horror? Tis all about the experience...
October 18, 200816 yr Tragic. Does it even matter with this genre of horror? Tis all about the experience... And....? Just because someone "might" be able to have a vague guess at an outcome (ie, "you just know it's gonna turn out bad"), it still doesn't give fools like YOU the right to explicitly state the actual outcome of the film, we have a thing called the "SPOILER FUNCTION" if you wanna do that sort of thing, use it...... <_< I've warned people about this in other Threads, clearly it's gonna take something a bit more punitive to get the message to people..... Consider this a 10% warning for you mate.....

October 20, 200816 yr Totally agree. Nothing worse than an ending being spoilt. Esp is horror. ..Or indeed in Murder Mystery/Suspense films.... I vividly remember as an eight year old kid going to see "Empire Strikes Back" and some stupid tw@t who'd been to see the film before in the queue saying "I cant believe that Darth Vadar is Luke's dad...". I was GUTTED.......

But make it so obv what they trying to hide so you know the ending anyway lol
October 21, 200816 yr LMFAO at him being warned over it. Especially since what he said is in the f***ing preview for God's sake.
