"Rare Thompson Twins video for their 1991 single "Come Inside". This version was remixed by C+C Music Factory and was from the brilliant underrated and criminally overlooked album, "Queer". This was the last album under the "Thompson Twins" name. Thompson Twins, looking funky. For "sonicgroovesaint".

I loved the later Thompson Twins singles.... remember The Saint single? SUPERB... and great remixes, too.

"This very short, yet revealing interview was originally broadcast on UK TV Channel 4 on April 7th, 2001. It features a short "where are they now?" retrospective with all 3 ex-Thompson Twins members Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie and Joe Leeway, including 2 from the original line-up (Pete Dodd and Matthew Seligman) before they became famous. Also features VERY rare live footage of the original 7-piece Thompson Twins band. Hosted and narrated (in a very tongue-in-cheek tone!) by Soft Cell's lead singer Marc Almond."

I think it all ended badly for Alannah and Tom, though, didn't it? I'm sure they split up under pretty bad circumstances, as a couple and as a band?

Oh, I thought they were happily married having immigrated to New Zealand in the mid/late 1990s to live on/run a farm - they had the same fantasy as Paul & Linda McCartney. :o

I loved the Thompson Twins, they were never were one of the best bands of the 1980s but the made a lot of good tracks - Hold Me Now, In The Name Of Love, Love On Your Side, Lay Your Hand On Me, Get That Love, Doctor Doctor, You Take Me Up, Sisters Of Mercy.....

There were a lot of great acts in the first half of the 1980s who when their careers headed towards the dumper in the late 1980s/early 1990s still released a lot of great material.

From Wikipedia:

In the mid-1990s, Alannah gave up the music business set up her own glass-casting studio in Auckland. After her sister died of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, Alannah founded a group in New Zealand called "Mothers Against Genetic-Engineering in Food and the Environment" (also known as MADGE) which soon had thousands of members. Alannah described this group as a "rapidly growing network of politically non-aligned women who are actively resisting the use of genetically-engineered material in our food and on our land". An advert for this group featuring a young woman with four breasts hooked up to milking machine became famous after appearing on billboards across New Zealand.

Tom and Alannah split up in 2003, and are now divorced. They both left New Zealand and live separately in England, but are still close friends.

I can remember one of their singles called "Play With Me Jane". The song didn't get into the top 75, but it was a bloody good song out of any of them. Can you get the video for that song?
