I hope it is number 1 - not long now!!!

I'd love to know what the sales are so far! I know they won't be as good as RTW ... but they still should be good.

good point - and I will be doing it for Jason - helping them get to No.1 - but they probably will without me lol
One day! I have been in the same room but never talked to him face to face - the same happened with Howard :(
Nope, well I saw Howard when I was working as a Supervisor at Gap on Regent Street Central London 2 years ago when I was 20 and he was shopping in there near christmas looking for kids clothes - I thought it was a bit unprofessional of me to go up there and say hiiiiiiiiii lol - and anyway I was too star struck!

RTW single has sold 98k on the first week. I guess the sales for GD will be a little bit higher- maybe +100k.

greatest day definitlt has a chance of beating 98,000 although in terms of quality of songs it doesnt deserve to for me but i do want them to get huge sales

Greatest Day looks like flopping in Europe (that'll make the Britney fans happy  ) Its a miserable 27 in Germany and I don't think its even in the chart in the Netherlands. I should imagine the album will do even worse. At least it will make their minds up for them about touring outside the UK and Ireland - no point touring in a country that really doesn't like your music (apart from a faithful hundred or so).

I think touring has nothing to do with the single but with the album. I am a TT fan, but i didn't buy the single. Sorry, but 7 euro is too much for 3 songs from which i have 2 on the album  . Also Shine and Rule the world didn't make to good in Germany, and they were net superior and far more played in radio!

The singles here are bought most from teens, so no chance to make good chart here. The adults has to many problems at the moment to buy singles, they will buy direct the album. But they will think first, so in the first week are only the fans who are buying. That explain also why Amy Winehouse was only after a year very good in charts!

Also it is not good to restrain in UK only, then they will be not so much helped from Polydor, as the international acts are more promoted and it will be bad sign for the third album! They will be also not taken anymore serious from the media...Only international acts are sustained and would surviv this bad times for music.

TT didn't took the time to promote to much, so is a slowly knowledge here of them releasing a new album. I have a friend who was on the tour, bought the BW album but didn't know about the new one  . If they would have ONLY one appearance in TV in UK , I am sure that they won't have the No. 1 with Greatest Day!

But with the media is slighty improved: i read yesterday a half page article about TT in Vanity Fair. And when they make it to VF, they are on the good way, as only the "cool" things are on VF  .

Are singles that expensive in Germany? I don't blame you then for not buying the physical. But don't downloads count towards your chart? They can surely end up no more than 1 and a half euros.

If any of the album tracks had been on the 'b' side of Greatest Day I don't think I'd have bought it ... I only buy if there is something different there ... and I actually like Sleepwalking better than Greatest Day (it had a different 'b' side in Germany didn't it) I can honestly say that of all the 'b' sides the only one of their recent stuff that was total c**p was the 'b' side to RTW - it was so bad I can't even remember what it was called. And yet the 'b' side to IWFL (We All Fall Down) was brilliant.

They have'nt done any promo yet for the single. What do you expect really?

Norma, sometimes you sound really harsh towards the boys.It almost feels like you need to be proven wrong everytime.

As for success...it all depends on their PR really. If they do enough promotion then the album will be successful. It contains really great tunes with a great potential to become big hits. If they mainly concentrate on their native country of course the success won't come from nowhere.

I'm afraid Norma's has a point. In Holland hardly anyone even knows Take That are back together. Most important radio stations won't play their new singles, because it's that boyband Take That. They do not want to be caught dead playing their music. Such a shame! I wish we could get them high in the charts, but so far our efforts have been in vain.

Sorry to sound pessimistic Locott, but I think Joi-C has proven that I'm correct in a way, with Europe's attitude towards Take That. As long as record stations don't play their music they really aren't going to get anywhere. I do think that any major promotion in Europe (with the possible exception of Germany) would be like flogging a dead horse.

I'm just glad that I can't see their popularity waning in the UK for some time yet.
