December 6, 200816 yr In the actual climate, the music scene is very strange in Germany. I was at Bon Jovi gig in Leipzig - there were free places. There are still tickets for a gig of Oasis, and that in a small arena. But the stadion gig of Depeche Mode was sold out and a new date was put. The big bands form UK play here in small arena / clubs. So , there is no wonder that Polydor takes time to decide a tour here. Germany has its own acts, so is no wonder that the UK ones are not always the top of the charts. But I don't tell that they are flop. Rule the world was not very high in charts but got great airplay. TT get a lot of atention in papers also to be laught at (it is still attention). Practically in charts comes: 1. what makes scandal after scandal - like Amy or Britney, as they come in the papers very much and people notice them; 2. promote, promote, promote; 3. silly kitch songs; 4. german artist (who most of the time sings in german). As you see, TT is nowhere in this 4 categories, so they should take to heart the promotion. With one appearance in TV, is very fine that they were at 37!!! And Greatest Day was also not the best choice for german audience. They should never never remain only in UK, as by the next album they will don't receive too much attention anymore. Polydor tends to concentrate on the big international seller.
December 7, 200816 yr It wasn´t a surprise that GD didn´t done that well in the charts, for me I was surprised that it was that good. And like other had said before, you usual don´t buy a single over here - its expensive with between 3.50 Euro and 7 Euro, and you can get the album for 12.99 if you like. But they got a lot of airplay in the radios I would say, even Reach out (which was the single here instead of I´d wait for life) was played a lot. And for the european tour, universal Germany is keep on saying that they will do one - and gary said in an interview that they don´t like doing promo or TV shows as they usual can´t sing live what they want to do. They want to play concerts (which is the big money at the moment - and not with selling albums).

December 7, 200816 yr Good to see that you stuck to your naming convention :heehee: :naughty: I was torn between Sheila Blige, Lucy Lastic, Gloria Stitz and Devil's Dumplings. In the end I decided on Gloria Stitz! Norma
December 7, 200816 yr Author with this weeks sales greatest day will be well ove rthe 100,000 mark lready
December 8, 200816 yr with this weeks sales greatest day will be well ove rthe 100,000 mark lready Doubt it will match the dizzy heights saleswise of patience or rule the world though. It prob wont even sell as much as shine.
December 8, 200816 yr Doubt it will match the dizzy heights saleswise of patience or rule the world though. It prob wont even sell as much as shine. I agree! It'll sell 250,000 maximum in its lifetime. If they get the timing right - then I think Up All Night could be a potential half-million seller! I'm assuming that UAN will be the next single! Norma
December 8, 200816 yr Yeah, getting the timing right is the problem with so much X-factors and with Leona  ... I don't think they will release in ianuar, as Howard is dj-ing and the child of Gary must be born. So , possible in februar and if they have luck, thy could get to promote at the Brits.....

I don't think they will release in ianuar, as Howard is dj-ing and the child of Gary must be born. So , possible in februar and if they have luck, thy could get to promote at the Brits..... February is going to be a busy month for Gary too as he's doing that Kilimanjaro climb with Chris Moyles, Cheryl Cole, Ben Shepherd, Kimberley Walsh, and others for the Comic Relief fund. Mind you ... it could be a good time to release it just for that. On the album front - I've read reports that The Circus has risen to number 1 on iTunes album charts and Beautiful World and Ultimate Collection are going up fast too! Norma
March 8, 200916 yr If they get the timing right - then I think Up All Night could be a potential half-million seller! I'm assuming that UAN will be the next single! Norma WOW! How wrong was I about this?  How come a song which is far better than Greatest Day will probably end up selling less than Greatest Day? Norma
March 8, 200916 yr Author well i think we all had high hopes for this not just you Norma, but although it wont sell a half a million i think it could so around 200,000,i have a feeling that up all night will only be a round number 14 or 15 today but i hope comic relief next week will help it,with them performing it has a chance of getting enough sales friday night and all day saturday to hopefully help it go top 10
March 13, 200916 yr UAN won't sell near 200k, maybe 150k... i cannot wait for the garden as the 3rd single.. THAT is the best song since RTW
March 13, 200916 yr UAN won't sell near 200k, maybe 150k... i cannot wait for the garden as the 3rd single.. THAT is the best song since RTW Weird how our tastes differ ... for me The Garden only stands up as an album track. I think its a poor choice for a single. But what do I know? I thought UAN was a certain top 5! Norma
