October 20, 200816 yr I've got this, there are loads of good tracks - Ordinary Days, Stargazing to name a few..but there are about 7/8 great tracks. I was surprised really, I think Syco have done OK. I'd recommend a listen
October 21, 200816 yr On first listen I think it's a good, not great, album - but I also get the impression it will be a grower so who knows. I think its 8 original songs to 5 covers (including bonus track), so 2/3 original material if you exclude When You Believe isn't bad... Standout songs for me (and the songs I think should be the four singles) are: Don't Call This Love, Creative, Could Do Better and Ordinary Days. I do adore his version of You Don't Knoe Me too.
October 21, 200816 yr There are seven covers on the album I think, so more covers than originals. I've listened to the preview and think it's quite a pleasant album. His recorded vocals sound OK, and I like the production. Stargazing is a lovely song and I like a couple of the other original songs, but not keen on the covers. I do think that the style of the album is much too old for him, very easy listening in parts -much the same as the image they've given him, he's 19 not 45! It will be interesting to see how well it does, they need to make a good second single choice.
October 21, 200816 yr Creative, Stargazing, Fingerprints and Ordinary Days are the stand outs for me
October 21, 200816 yr I've heard one or two. His recording voice sounds ok actually - certainly 100% improved and might I say - almost completely unrecognisable to the voice we heard all the way through the X-Factor last year. It does seem rather dated for a 19 year old though. He's better than Ray Quinn but I'll leave further comments until I've heard more. Norma
October 21, 200816 yr Save your money James :( Obviously i wouldnt pay money for such a priviledge. Who pays for albums these days? :kink:

Norma In my ongoing quest to turn you, I will point you in the direction of his performance of All In Good Time on This Morning - I actually think his vocals themselves have improved tenfold, as opposed to just 'working' in a recorded sense or whatever. What are the SEVEN covers?! I guess I didn't count 'Dont Call This Love' which I heard was covered so thats six along with Right Now, You Don't Know Me, When You Believe, Misty Blue and A Song For You. It's still miles better than what we were given with Ray.. And I don't get the love for Stargazing.. I hope it grows on me but right now it just seems so... obvious?

I think Stargazing should be the next single, only trouble is it's another ballad. As for his live singing, I think he will find it hard to live down that truly awful appearance on the x-factor - what was going on there? Trouble is regardless of his vocals being good or bad he doesn't have much charisma, other than being a cute nice Scottish boy, and I'm not sure how far that can get him.

Its debateable whether Don't Call this Love is a cover as it was likely recorded (or at least the rights to the song were purchashed) around the same time as the Swedish girl that did it.
October 21, 200816 yr Could some PM the album? I'm from Brazil and we can't buy music from iTunes, and i'm only gonna buy my album when Westlife's new DVD is available so the delivery is cheaper... Anyone?? Please...
