Owen is not the player he used to be. He's lost his pace, which made him a brilliant striker. Owen isn't for, but he hasn't done anything for England so far where as Crouch has.

I'm not getting the bad vibes. T&T would make if very difficult for ANYONE to play against. All they do is defend, they defend too deep to get beyond them and the midfield play so far back the midfield can't get shots in. They denied Lampard, Gerrard and Cole countless shots outside the area as they mark too tightly. I though apart from crosssing it was a good performance. We did what was needed in the end and Sven's subs worked. We're through - people seem to be forgetting that!!!

I'm so happy we're through, and I'm not moaning at Crouch, as it's not his fault - it's Sven's.

We wouldn't beat Brazil by playing long balls to Crouch.

Two late goals = 3 more Points.

But that was still a much poorer performance than the much (undeserved) criticised performance against Paraguay.

On the positive note Sven got his subs right (for once!) - but this match proved once & for all that Lampard & Gerrard CANNOT play in the same England team if we want to win the World Cup.

Brazil play differently to Trinidad & Tobago. They attack and leave gaps at the back, we wouldn't need to play a long ball. T&T only left gaps at the back when they were in search of an equaliser. They weren't playing for a win, Brazil would!

Oh and that ITV World Cup music is the only thing I prefer about their coverage over the BBC.

Nah I much prefer ITV's  commentators and pundits are far less biased than BBC's and we don't have the irritating Hansen, Ian Wright, Mark Lawrenson :puke2: or John Motson on ITV1.

Oh I agree with this, SO many times Gerrard was in a deep role. Just NO!

That is such a good point. We need Carrick in there, and maybe Gerrard starting with Lampard coming on for Carrick if losing or Gerrard if winning.

Atleast you get time to see the BBCs analysis instead of advert after advert after advert :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:

BBC's is funnier, better commentators and ITV has Fat Sam - enough to put me off.

I still htink Gerrard and Lampard can play in the same team, but its just a case of getting the balance right between the two players, but if Sven decided to drop one which one would he drop?.

But I find they haven't played against a world class team yet, they haven't really been tested, like Spain or Brazil, they have been the strongest teams from what I seen

Sweden will test them a bit, its the first European team they will be facing, but they are not world class country, and they lack something.

At least we have qualified for the next round, whoever we play, Germany or Ecuador, I would prefer Ecuador, they will be tested for sure, Ecuador have played well so far.

It's either ads or an extra £100 odd a year though.

Gabby Logan makes up for it... when she's on lol.

It's like the friendlies. We only ever play poor countries. However Alias did inform me the other day we played Argentina last November and won 3-2 ^_^ but apart from that we only ever seem to play the likes of Hungary and Jamaica. -_-

Brazil were $h!t, Argentina, Czech, Holland, Germany and possibly even Italy were better than Brazil!
