Couldn't find it in Waterstones. Play.com say not released until 25/6.

Hopefully I should get it tomorrow - Amazon emailed yesterday to say it'd been sent out.

It duly arrived.

The first thing to say is that it *does* have the full weeks-on-chart data, i.e. covering all the T75 (or T100 when that applied in the 80's). :yahoo:

Basically the same format as the singles book, otherwise.

As for the accuracy of the data, I'll leave that for others to check.

I got it on Waterstones last Sunday. It is better than the singles book. It has band line-ups for pretty much any notable act you can think of, not just solo acts and duos like the old Guinness books. But I do still miss the stars and circles!

I know 2 of the Guys behind the Book. I'll let them know that we'd like the Symbols back - that

instantly showed the Top 10 Hits, & No.1 Hits. We can see if they will be re-started,

for the 2010 Singles Book, & the 2011 Album Book.

Another important thing it has, that Guiness lacked, is an alphabetic list of album titles. :)

The new Album's Book is fine - far, far better than the 2008 Singles Book.

It Lists all the No.1's - as well as having several Facts & Feats Lists. Sales Lists

are in it too - The Top 100 Studio Albums, The Top 40 Artist 'Hits' Albums, & The

Top 5 Film Soundtracks. All 145 Albums have their 'Rounded' UK Sales Totals shown

- to the Chart of W/E 3rd January this Year. :D

It also contains a List of all No.1's in the Compilation Chart, since January 1989.

Plus details of their Peak Positions, & Weeks On Chart. The same for Film Soundtracks,

& Stage Cast Albums.

If you can't get the Book in Shops, simply go to Amazon.uk, & get it from there. It is

Discounted there, anyhow.....

I haven't seen it in my local Borders or Waterstones. Not in WH Smith either but that's hardly a surprise. I suspect the bookshops have been reluctant to get many copies in because of the singles book. The response from members of this site and others has been very positive so I might end up ordering it online.

this is a very good edition and well worth buying. A much better effort than the awful Singles book. As mentioned, the top 10 and number one albums should be highlighted though.
I won't be buying this because tbh I'm not that interested in albums. I'm glad to know that they have their arse in gear now though and the singles book will be worth buying this time (didn't bother with the last one, but I bought every Guiness edition).
