'Grace' Video Update

We're able to reveal more information about the forthcoming video for ‘Grace'!

 

As some of you have already guessed on the messageboard, the video does involve dressage and showjumping! As part of the storyline, Will's geeky character will be transformed by this highly competitive world.

 

He's been getting his skills up to speed this week by practising with some of the UK's best trainers in order to try and execute the jumps perfectly!

 

He will even be riding the horse that Mel Gibson rode in 'Braveheart'.

 

The video director is Kinga Burza who shot Katy Perry's ‘I Kissed a Girl' and Kate Nash's ‘Foundations' videos.

 

First time Will has worked with a female director. Thanks to Ros for this info:

 

Kinga was born in Poland and raised in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.

After completing a BA at the University of New South Wales, she went onto postgraduate studies in Theatre and Film at UTS in Sydney.

 

In 2006 Kinga decided to move to London, where she was promptly signed up for music video representation by Partizan, and has since shot videos for Katy Perry, Ladyhawke, Kate Nash, Calvin Harris and The Teenagers.

 

Kinga's first foray into the american market, for Katy Perry's 'I Kissed a Girl', scored her a huge number one video in the US, as well as FIVE nominations at the 2008 MTV VMA Awards.

 

Her work has been featured in i-D (where she was recently ranked among the 'hot new directing talent to watch out for'), Dazed and Confused, NME and Promo.

 

Kinga's Kate Nash video 'Foundations' won the Best Pop Video Award at the UK Music Video Awards 2008.

 

He only works with the best doesn't he.

When we first saw these pictures of Will Young arriving at an Equestrian centre in the middle of the countryside we thought: “is he taking a leaf out of Katie Price’s book by training to become a master in the art of dressage?”

Funnily enough it turned out that Will HAS been training to ride horses for show jumping and dressage. But unlike Jordan, he’s not been doing it for fun. In fact Will’s been training to ride horses for a storyline in his new music video Grace.

 

In the film the singer will play a rather geeky man who becomes enthralled by the competitive world of show jumping. Sounds... slightly strange, but we’ll reserve judgement until we see the finished video!
