Help!!!

 

I can't get onto Devoted :( I can access the 'Home' page, but when I go to the Forums tab, I get the following message:

 

Error 403: Forbidden

 

You don't have permissions to access this page. This usually means one of the following:

 

* this file and directory permissions make them unavailable from the Internet.

* .htaccess contains instructions that prevent public access to this file or directory.

 

Please check file and directory permissions and .htaccess configuration if you are able to do this. Otherwise, request your webmaster to grant you access.

 

I don't understand - this happens before I've even tried to log in, so I can't even look at the News forum. So I don't think it's anything to do with my membership access (at least I hope not!). Has anyone else ever had this message? What does it mean?

If anyone has any clues, please help, as I'm going crazy without my daily Will-fix :cry:

Well it wont let me on no matter what link I use...are many signed in Gill ? There is quite a long thread over on the OS so it looks as if there are a lot of people locked out

Phil put a message up the other day to say he was changing server and there would be disruption.

I've just gone onto Devoted and it's working fine for me, apart from the pages taking a little longer to load, I came off earlier this lunchtime though as it was dreadfully slow.

Now that's a problem if some can get in and some can't, 'cos how will they know that the site's down for a lot of us?

Yes - someone on O/S is getting a slightly different message but still forbidden. And shirl on there said he has just posted on Facebook that he is counting the hours to his holiday. Hope he sorts the site out before he goes :o

Hello everyone. Sorry about the problem over the road. I spotted it a couple of hours ago, and have emailed the hosts for some help. They're usually pretty swift when there's a problem like this, so I'm hoping they'll get it sorted pretty soon.

 

Am I right in thinking that some are able to access the forums OK?

Oh and don't worry, we don't go away until Saturday, so there's plenty of time to get it sorted before then

Phew! All is well again, wooohoooo!! :cheer: Hope everyone else is back in again, too.

I was a tad confused, as it wasn't an error message I'd encountered previously on the occasions when the site is down, and I panicked a bit LOL. I thought it might have been a techy problem, and I'm useless at all that stuff. Thank goodness it wasn't!

Phew! All is well again, wooohoooo!! :cheer: Hope everyone else is back in again, too.

I paniced too. Just got my pc back after having a vey nasty virus so was relieved to find everyone else was having the same problems.

Me too - I was afraid to touch anything and called out to my son - my techie on all things internet/computer :lol:
