'offshore' was 97, ok it entered the uk charts at the end of december 96, but peaked and re-released charting higher in 97... so for me, its 97.

lol, actually it peaked at #14 the week before Christmas '96. The re-release made #17 the following year.

Fair point, although it was the instrumental that charted in 96 which is better than the vocal version, although the vocal was well done, agreed.

 

96 was a great year for music, personally, so let me get me thinking cap on...

according to the guiness book, it entered the chart on dec 21, wether it was at its highest position or not is unknown.

 

but it matters not.. :)

 

yeah man it matters not - you know at this point the thread was turning more into a competition between yourselves to become the biggest pub bore...why be so damn pedantic about it...your not winning prizes for this infomation are you...doesnt really matter what year it came out - only thing that matter is that it means something to you...
