Take That are to follow their hugely successful Beautiful World tour with their biggest ever series of UK concerts in 2009.

The Circus Live - Summer 2009 - so named after their upcoming album - will see the legendary boy band take to the stage for eight stadium shows in June and July, including a three-night spot at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

The tour kicks off at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland and concludes with two dates at Wembley Stadium in July 2009.

While their last album Beautiful World sold more than two and half million copies in the UK, making it their most successful record to date, the subsequent 2007 Beautiful World tour was an even bigger success, selling over 370,000 tickets in less than two hours.

The live DVDs they released in the wake of their reunion tours were the biggest selling music titles of 2006 (The Ultimate Tour) and 2007 (Beautiful World Live) and they have won an Ivor Novello for the single Shine and three Brit awards since reforming.

A spokesman for the band said: "All of us are really looking forward to getting back on the road again next summer. We can think of no better way to thank everyone for their support and loyalty over the past three years.

"This will be the biggest tour we've ever done so we'll be working especially hard over the next few months to make it the best and most exciting Take That tour yet."

Oh why cant they play at the O2 Arena :(

They're only doing a stadium tour this year, as suspected. To be honest ... its the only fair way of more people getting to see them as those Take That fans who may have gone half a dozen times in London (if they were doing a number of nights at the O2) will only be able to go to two maximum (unless they can be in two places at one time). So all those people who missed out last time will have a better chance this time .... this is of course excluding the 'tout' factor!

I'm back from Glenrothes!

great to see you back norma,,im issed you loads

Hi Pete!

Yes .... I'm back from my journey 'up north' to Scotland! It was great seeing my sister but it was bloody cold!

Well - I'm getting anxious now ... I'm not at all certain of getting tickets - I wasn't lucky first time last year! I'm hoping that more tickets get released nearer the time ... or that they'll add a few extra dates. If not ... I feel we'll be holidaying in Ireland next year as I'm certain I'll get tickets for Croke Park in Dublin! We'll pop in and visit!

Tickets go on sale on friday - I bet they will sell out really quick - im working till 8 on friday so hopefully can do it on my lunch break....

Anyone know what the prices are going to be?

I'll try for Wembley, but I didn't have any luck last tour...I'll be crossing everything! :D

Pretty certain they're £45 and £55 (I'm assuming the higher price is the seated areas). Pretty good value for money - Take That do tend to keep their prices fairly low. Its just the blooming 'booking' fees I object to which puts at least another £5 on each ticket!

I'm going to try online and on the phone tomorrow ... but I won't be too upset if I'm not lucky ... I was reluctant to go to a stadium do anyway.

I wanna go to Wembley. It's a legendary place after all. Gary said they want to match the perfomance Queen did there at the live Aid in 1985.This was the best live rock performance ever! If TT even come close to this, this will be magnificent!

Bit more news on the Croke Park thing. Take That will have The Script as support act for this gig.

Norma

Good luck everybody to get tickets tomorrow!

I, somehow, don't think they will sell so quickly, as this time are a lot of places for only a couple of venues.

I hope they will tour in Germany as well! :w00t:

I think you're right about them selling slower than the last two tours. If they do sell quickly however ... I'll just have to get tickets for the Dublin gig as I'm sure that one won't sell out quickly at all - I can combine it with a short hol in the Emerald Isle.

I'm not too sure they'll do large scale gigs outside of the UK / Ireland though - they definitely couldn't sell out a stadium in Germany, Denmark, Italy, etc - and by the sounds of what they have in mind for The UK Circus Tour - it would be way too expensive a gig to take abroad for just a couple of Arenas. I think if they do visit Europe - and according to something Howard said in a recent interview - a trip to Portugal could be on the cards - it'll probably be a much scaled-down show they do.

Yeah, i also think they will play arena outside UK. But i can fully understand them that they will play stadium instead arena. As much as comfortable arena may be, that means a lot more dates, and they have the families to think about (and Jay complainig thathe is too old  ).

Well I've given up on the ticket hunt now ... can't be arsed - life's too short. Sold Out on Seetickets and I'm still waiting to get through on Ticketmaster (on net) phones are absolutely f*cking useless!

Never had this trouble with Val Doonican tickets!

Norma

LOL, but there is already a new date for Glasgow, so who knows? Perhaps it will be also a new one for Wembley. I must confess I am very shocked that they sold so many tickets in such a short time. I was very sure this time will remain a lot not sold as this new tour comes to short after the last one.

And Norma, the Dublin ones will go next week on sale, right?

Also a new date for Manchester.

Why the hell I am excited? It's not that I will come to England :P ...

But like I said, I was so pesimistic about this tour selling well ....

Good news - I'm going to Manchester - my niece and her boyfriend stuck with Ticketmaster & Seetickets all morning and it paid off - so my niece is letting me have one of the tickets (only fair as I let her come to the Brits with me last year!)

I've been trying to get tickets for the extra Manchester date they've put on but all the seated tickets have sold out and they only have standing tickets left (and not many of them). I'm only 5' 2" so there's no way I'm standing in the middle of a cricket pitch (probably in the rain! )

I'm still getting very tempted by Dublin though!

Norma

I was standing at a BonJovi gig in a stadion and i didn't see a thing! I was soo angry...I thing I am as tall as you (1,55 m). So if they come in Germany I will take only sitting places .

A new date for Wembley was added too. That is sooo insane! :teresa: Is whole England going to see TakeThat??? Hmmm, it seems that they don't have to be afraid of Oasis  ...

Telling that, I wish I would come to UK to see them as summer is a lot better as autumn. But UK is too expensive and I think my hubby would have a nervous breakdown (he came with me to BonJovi gig and REM, but I don't think he was very enthusiatic about neither, and I already said I want to ´go to the DepecheMode gig in this summer  )

Norma, you said this time around they wouldnt sell out that quick and look what happened.. some dates were sold out in MINUTES and they added 4 extra dates:

Stadium of Light - 5th June 2009

Old Trafford Cricket Ground - 24th June 2009

Hampden Stadium - 19th June 2009

Wembley date 1st July

This is MADNESS....
