December 11, 200816 yr Author I think we knew that would happen. Running plays have more opportunity for people to see them.
December 11, 200816 yr Yes, the audience numbers are far greater than for GWTW in its limited run. But we can try.
December 11, 200816 yr Author Even if everyone who went out amazed at how good it was voted, he'd be in with a good chance.
December 11, 200816 yr oh well at least he was anominee, that stands for something, and keeps his name in peoples minds connected with the WE
December 15, 200816 yr Its just such a shame, its just not fair :( ,he so deserves to win this!I surpose all we can do is try our hardest!
December 15, 200816 yr I honestly don't know whether D actually DESERVES to win...............I haven't seen the other nominees in the other nominated productions. But then I guess very few people have seen all the five shows. I have voted for Darius because I considered his performance in GWTW to be exceptionally good. Unfortunately a comparatively small number of people saw this show, with its limited number of performances, which means that Darius was handicapped from the start.
December 17, 200816 yr Author That's the trouble. I voted because I thought he had really grown and, even the media, recoginised his talent and abilities.
December 17, 200816 yr Douglas Hodge (La Cage aux Follies), 23.8% Ryan Molloy (Jersey Boys) 24.9% Matt Rawle (Zorro) 17.0% These three have each had excerpts televised in the Royal Command Performance. It will be interesting to see if there is a related surge in voting. (Darius 19.3%)
December 17, 200816 yr In actual fact, I don't think Darius would be over-impressed if he did win. Such awards as the Oscars are judged by a panel of (presumably) well qualified judges, though even they are open to bias or bribery...........I don't mean financial bribery, more the 'I'll scratch your back if you'll scratch mine' bribery. But at least such awards carry prestige. But this 'Whats on Stage' award is based on public opinion and carries no great acclaim. It might boost his morale to recognise the public's confidence in him, but I doubt he would cross the pond to accept the award. More likely he would delegate if he won. On saying that, I would be delighted for him if he did win, and anything that brings news, especially photos, would be more than welcome.
December 18, 200816 yr Author I still think that what the actual, real audience thinks of a show is best. You could use that to say that the critics were right about GWTW because they are critics.
