OK all 14 songs can be included I've no problem with that.

 

But I was intending to PM the results to Phil and have them included as part of the main Best Of results thread. In which case it would just be 3rd, 2nd and 1st place announced at various points in the evening.

 

So if you want, we can make the points system 12,10,8-1 etc, but it might be a bit much for the minor event the results announcing will be. I suppose I could always publish the full results afterwards...

 

I'll have a think about it. Nevertheless, the 14 shortlisted songs will be announced tomorrow in the form of a recap video tomorrow during the Best Of semi results!

Right I've decided on a compromise hopefully people will go for!

 

You'll vote for 7 out of the 14 songs, and the scoring system will be 10,8,6,4,3,2,1. So it still gives slight weighting to the top 3 songs just like the "Eurovision" scoring does, but if we used the usual system, people would end up giving points to songs they really don't like, so this way you'll be voting for half of the songs.

 

I hadn't anticipated doing a full results show, so I might not even have the time, but if people really think it has become that big then I could forward the scores to somebody else who would be willing...

 

However I am perfectly happy to announce the full voting results after the Best Of contest, but I'd kind of pictured it as the 3rd, 2nd and 1st placed songs being announced at a quarter, half way and three quarters of the way through the voting, as a little interlude.

 

Anyways, I'll have a think, and hear what you think about it, but regardless, I'll post a recap video of the shortlisted 14 songs during the results show tonight, with Phil's permission!

Having heard all 14 songs I would quite easily be able to give 10 of them points :kink:

 

but yeah I think the new points system is a nice compromise - out of interest will we be allowed to vote for our own entries?

Nope, normal rules will apply and you won't be able to vote for your own entries this time.

 

I'll finalise all the details such as deadlines etc by tonight.

 

And thanks Tom, I'll bear that in mind...you'd definitely be the person I'd come to after the great job you did with BJSC X.

 

Still not completely sold on the idea of a full results show though, since I'd always imagined it as a bit of light relief from the voting for the Best Of...but I've not completely closed my mind to it yet.

Cool stuff, I'm happy with the traditional 'you can't vote for yourself rule' as it would be a bit predictable if the nations that qualified all voted for themselves.

Great idea voting for half the songs, i doubt im going to like 10 of them.
