November 6, 200816 yr I'm sticking with the Specials, Ghost Town is one of the strongest tracks among an incredibly strong catalogue. The Model is fantastic but Kraftwerk have better in their arsenal. I'd have taken The Model over Stand and Deliver or Take On Me out of the old champions though.
November 6, 200816 yr Kraftwerk for me - no contest. Here's the original German version - Das Modell IBDBkhceQWw I have a few of their albums including Autobahn which has the complete 22min 45sec version of Autobahn For me they were the innovators of electronic music. They influences many acts of the time such as Human League and Tubeway Army. Edited November 7, 200816 yr by Euro Music
November 6, 200816 yr kraftwerk easy..... ghost town was inho the specials poorest track. I agree, i dont see why it is way more famous than some of there other songs.
November 6, 200816 yr Author I think Ghost Town was so famous because it reflected British Society of the time so well, coming hard on the heels of the riots in Brixton and Toxteth in 1981.
November 7, 200816 yr I think Ghost Town was so famous because it reflected British Society of the time so well, coming hard on the heels of the riots in Brixton and Toxteth in 1981. exactly.... it was a poignant political statement and from that perspective it was cool. however IMHO it wasnt the best specials track to listen too, im not saying it was rubbish...it clearly wasnt, but its just not my fav specials track...in fact..its my least favourite.
