Apparently "The Garden" is not Mark's solo as we all thought. They all share vocals on this song for the first time ever, i guess.

Ha, I predicted that!!!!

*very proud about myself*

I was sure that Mark will not take the lead alone on the first song of the album  ...

I hope now Gary's fans are happy: Mark doesn't sing more songs as Gary after all    :teresa:

I'm not really bothered how many songs Gary sings as long as the album is good. I do have to be honest ... I'm still not convinced in Mark's vocals though - he does have an incredibly limited vocal range - much more limited than Howard and Jason.

Still I like the overall effect so good result all-round I'd say. Howard's 'Here' isn't there! I was looking forward to hearing that one.

Neh, Howard has less range if he get not in falsetto. In al his songs he doesn't chance the notes to much ... But the songs are very well written on his voice, so i cannot hear Never forget from somebody else.

Mark has not the pop-ballad voice. When he sings rock-ballads is super! Yeap, he has not the best voice, but he puts so much soul in singing that i feel a lot more as when a very good singer sings without difference his songs... And the retro style suits him very well :yahoo:

Iris have you heard Take That's cover of The Kaiser Chief's 'Every Day I Love You Less and Less'? If not let me know and I'll try to get a link to you .... I think you'll like it .... Mark & Gary do a verse each and the harmonies from all four are fabulous ... but Mark sings with real 'angst'.

Norma

Thanks for the Capital Radio reviews too! I can see this album being quite popular with people in the industry itself.

Norma

Hehe, i know it, naturally (did I tell you that I will go in februar to a Kaiser Chiefs gig? :naughty: ). And I love it!!!

I cannot wait till the album cames! Also when i said that a song is not so on my taste, I still think that this album has by far better songs as half of the BW songs :yahoo: . Next time i will not hear anything till the album comes, because from the little bits i form an expectation song and i tend to be disspointed if is not like what i thought  . And they did put a lot of twist in their songs this time, isn't it? I never dreamed that Garden or Hold up a light will go like that .

The only thing i don't like is that they go to high with thier voices. I am not keen on this kind of singing and is esp. annoying if i knew that the singer have actually a great voice range and he doesn't need that. It seems a general mode , also by Razorlight or Coldplay...

My husband overheard me listening to the clips earlier and he asked 'who's that yodeling?'

LOL at your husband  . I dread to think what my hubby will say  . I already have told him that he must come with me if TT tours Germany.

But the poor soul was/is coming to BonJovi, REM, DepecheMode and KC, so I think he will love TT for a change :naughty: ...

Iris - Take That are doing loads of promo trips in Germany & Spain (I think after the UK - Germany is Take That's biggest supporter). I'm sure they'll include Germany in a mini-tour of the Circus. They probably won't tour as many countries as they did with Beautiful World (they just aren't popular enough - I don't think Europe can see past the 'boyband' thing) - but I'm certain they'll do Germany.

I am not so keen on the promo. If it were a promo gig , that will be nice (like they do at Radio2 or like they done at Abbey Road). For something like that i would travel half Germany. But for normal promotion they don't come to the part of Germany where i live and i am too old to run after them  . A gig is something else...

Well, i think they did quite well at the gigs here in Germany, also when they didn' t have to many songs in charts. It is very dependable which critics they will have for the new album. The big papers here are very snob and say nice words only about generation MTV or generation "is so classic that i must praise him". But , who knows? After 3 Brits and singing live at MTV awards TT will be perhaps half percent cooler  ...

I know what you mean - I don't know how those people who follow them round to radio stations and every appearance do it ... I'm too old for that business too!

I'm hoping that they do do some sort of proper 'mini-tour' of Germany - as you say (and from what I've seen on other sites - Germany is quite receptive to Take That). The problem Take That have in the rest of Europe is that for Europeans - it seems to be you either have to love Take That or Robbie and while the UK (and Germany) is receptive to both ... the rest of Europe definitely seem to have Robbie as their favourite and they see Take That as 'villains' - this is weird to me ... as I would have thought if any nation would have that mentality it would be the British!

I do think though in future - Take That will just settle down and just concentrate on Britain. I know Gary has said that they don't want to be so 'focal' in the next few years. I think they'll want to release a record when they feel like it - and after The Circus - I should imagine the next album will not appear for maybe two years at least.

I've never heard of discopop! I think with a name like that it would be obvious they'd hate anything Take That did!

To be honest ... I'm not bothered with the reviews (good ones or bad ones). Beautiful World got awful reviews from The Mirror, NOTW and a couple of the broadsheet newspapers when that was released and it didn't do their sales any harm.

Norma

Hehe, I know...but i still feel good when i read a good review ... But it seems that the uthor wanted to be cool and very smart, and failed  . Ihave nothing aginst that they don't like the music. It won't be on everybody heart, for sure ....

I hope in Germany they will receive a better critic, because what comes form UK has in Germany success only when is hyped ... <_< .

So, no panic need here!!! When they give 3 stars for Rule the world, no wonder they give 3 to Greatest day

The reviewer just doesn't like Take That ... I actually agree with some points he/she makes about Greatest Day ... but when you see the same people gave Patience and RTW only three stars - you know its just personal and given their time again ... they'd probably give Back For Good a bad review (although they say otherwise).

Norma

Yeah , they have John Barrowman only 2 stars (don't read that, not nice things about the song and Gary).

But they gave 4stars to The Killers, and I am sure that that song is very much a copy of other song ( i cannot make my mind if from Queen or from who...)

I don't like the John Barrowman song myself - even if Gary did write it (I'm just glad he doesn't sing it.) I think two stars is a fair comment.

I know what you mean about the Killers song - I like it myself but it is very, very reminiscent of another famous song I just can't put my finger on it. But then again ... of course they'll give four stars to The Killers ... it is very fashionable to like The Killers. It really isn't fashionable for 'credible' people in the music industry to admit to liking Take That. I dont' care ... I do ... and thats what's important! I suppose Chris Martin is as old-fashioned as us fans then!
