November 17, 200816 yr This is funny: http://www.mp3sparks.com/r2/Take_That/The_.../mcatalog.shtml The Circus 2008 Genre: Rock Style: Dance-Pop, Euro-Pop, Teen Pop Hehe the genre is very well fitted with the style
November 18, 200816 yr Very bad critic and very snobbish: http://www.timeout.com/london/music/review...the_circus.html
November 18, 200816 yr Very bad critic and very snobbish: http://www.timeout.com/london/music/review...the_circus.html    Ouch! As I said though ... I don't take any notice now of good or bad reviews! Time Out are notoriously snobby (you can tell that by their film reviews - arty/farty - they love - commercial - they hate! By the way, Time Out gave Beautiful World a terrible review as well if my memory serves correct .... didn't do any harm! Norma
November 18, 200816 yr Well, i feel then better! :yahoo: I don't care for critics for my own opinion. I know what i like and what i don't and no paper or tv can tell me what should i like. But i know how a lot of people are very influenceable and i really wish that the album does well and has a chance to be heard and listened by a lot of people, because it deserves it!

For the record ... I'm expecting awful reviews from The Guardian, The Times and The Independent. The Telegraph - I'm not too sure of. Norma
November 18, 200816 yr Let's not forget the BBC and NME  Edited November 18, 200816 yr by IrisAlbastru
November 19, 200816 yr I'm going to predict that the single, Greatest Day, won't make no1. There just isnt much of a buzz about it and its not as good as their recent stuff. I think their album will go to no1 but wont sell as much as Beautiful World did overall. I'm predicting their album wont be the biggest seller of the year though - that feat will probably be held by Duffy who has already shifted 1.3 million and has a deluxe edition of her album out next week.

I think most of us have predicted they'll miss number one this time - I think once Leona releases Run (even if it is only on download) she'll beat everyone and anyone. Iris and I have already agreed - The Circus won't sell as much as Beautiful World. I just can't wait to see them in June next year now! Twice!!! :) Norma

Personally I think its been deliberately planned and despite them saying it'll be available from 1st December - I think they'll make it the same day as Take That - I can almost see how the media will play it out 'The same two acts battling for number 1 almost a year to the day that they did before'. With the following Leona has and the amount of airplay Run is getting - I can see her download sales beating Take That's combined physical and download. I'm just glad she's got her album release out of the way now! Norma
November 19, 200816 yr Article from the Sun online ... very complimentary about the album - although this isn't their official review (which will probably be very different). I'm only posting it for the Take That content ... very peed off with the reference to Amy at the end of it! They won't be satisfied until they've run her into the ground. And the Britney fans think she had it hard from the media! I so want Amy to come back with something that willl blow her out of the water. And no matter what - Winehouse is still THE number 1 British singer at the moment. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle1949711.ece Norma Edited November 19, 200816 yr by Norma_Snockers
November 19, 200816 yr Author Oh come on! I can't believe you lot think Greatest Day won't be number one! It will be number one by a big margin. We are talking about the biggest boy band since the Beatles. The band with the biggest comeback in pop history. Last album - one of the biggest UK albums of the 21st century. The band with the fastest selling tour in history Then we are also talking about an extremely radio friendly new single. It is a huge radio and TV airplay hit. And let's not forget the X-factor. The top prime-time show that will be dedicated to Take That and feature the new single, two days before it is released. The stars are all aligned to sell this single by the truckload. Get ready for Take That's 11th number one. It won't even be a contest with whatever else is released.
November 20, 200816 yr I hope he's right too! My feelings on this change from day to day. However, now that I've heard the 'b' side .... I feel a bit better. I just hope that gets some airplay here and there. Norma
November 21, 200816 yr Nice article in the Sun and a review in there (or comments) on the album. Pretty nice reading. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle1954224.ece Norma
November 21, 200816 yr Good one : http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/release/8qp2/ Thanks Iris. I've seen another brilliant review (by a really good reputable magazine). Attitude (December issue) has given it an in-depth review (they've actually listened to the whole album - unlike the Time Out bunch). They've given it a four and a half star out of five rating. Like you and I ... they believe its a better album than Beautiful World ... and for largely the same reasons. I only read it in the shop I'm afraid. I would have bought it if I had a scanner to share the review ... but as I don't it was pointless. Norma
November 21, 200816 yr Wow, thank you! What kind of magazine is this Attitude? To whom is targeted? Its a glossy mens/gay magazine. I have bought it in the past (when there's been an interview or an article over several pages - but I'm not going to buy it just for a record review.) They are a bit biased though ... the last lengthy article they did on TT (on their return) they were more interested in fancying Gary (he did look his best though!) Norma
