I've seen the press release for a later episode and Elouise Hawking is listed and Ellie is short for Elouise. Widmore knows Ellie, and he is probably interested in time travel and the like which is why he's keeping Faraday's ex alive. I'm sure there's a lot more to that story, as it was quite a major plot for that episode. Also Ms. Hawking is in LA with Ben, so pretty much stone cold proof that Ellie is his mum.

okay... I've just watched the first three episodes of the new series..... Seriously, just WTF is going on with this show......????? I'm slightly starting to lose patience to be honest.....

 

I honestly just dunno, this whole "island's moving through time" stuff..... Oh come on....... Isn't it all just a BIT "Quantum Leap"......? :rolleyes: This show once prided itself on being pretty original, now it's just doing the whole, rather well-worn 'time travel' thing as a plot device.....

Ellie was the prominent female Other in the episode. The one who went to investigate Jughead with Faraday. She also had an English accent.

 

 

And Grimly I like where the show is going. It's interesting. Quite confusing, but interesting. I think the island's going to stop travelling through time soon, well, once everyone returns. If the show didn't have an end date either, ABC would never allow this the show to go in the direction it's going. Even though the first two episodes had a lot of references to casual viewers, there's no chance Lost is going to really pick up casual viewers again...

Jughead is going to play a pivitol part in the show imo. They wouldn't have shown that for no reason. It's obviously buried somewhere, but where? Who knows. Maybe the reason they everyone on the island is in the danger is because Jughead might explode at some point?

Oh, yes, now I remembered Daniel told her that she looks familiar to him! So that could easily be his mother. And yes, there must be a big reason Widmore knows her well, they're both Other! And I agree about Jughead.

I so knew that it was gonna be Danielle's crew as soon as they saw the stuff on the beach, and then when she was pregnant i was sure. Something im unsure about though is, is Ben Alex's biological father? because for some reason i always thought that but is it possible?

 

and i knew Jin was alive :P i dont know if you recall but i said it in the season 4 thread that i thought he was still alive.

 

when daniel said the nose bleeds and stuff was due to length on the island (or something like that) and Miles said he had only been there 2 weeks, and daniel asked if he was sure, i reckon Miles is Marvin Candle's baby.

it's not that their is some sort of force that disallow's them to meet people from different time zones, is that they arent meeting them so it doesnt mess up the space-time continum

well i just realised what i said was a bit stupid as i just realised the others took Alex away which means Ben isnt Alex's biological father :lol: yeah so even if they did find each other on the island, still wouldnt make sense that Ben is Alex's biological father as she was pregnant when she got to the island

 

I really liked ep 4. Best ep of the series so far, it actually feels like things are moving forward now.

 

I don't really like how they seem to be trying to do self contained mini arc for every episode though. In ep2 it was Hurley and Sayid, in ep3 it was the bomb, in ep4 it was the lawyer story. When it was Flashbacks/F;ashforwards, the self contained story of the fb/fw was usually relevant to the island story, but with the new story telling technique there doesn't seem to be much focus.

 

I am extremely happy we are going to get Danielle's back story, but I know I am going to be pissed off when it flashes to the O6 running around. I sort of wish that we had got a standard Danielle flashback...that would've been nice. Although the way they tied it in with Jin's return was really cool. I didn't see that coming. For some reason, I thought the man on the drift wood was going to be Ben and it was going to be how he stole Danielle's baby...

^I agree that a standard Danielle flashback would have been better. Im still pissed off they killed her off tbh.
