Is there any movie that tells a love story without being sappy or cheesy, or at least keeping it minimum?

What are your faves?

The Notebook. I really liked that one, even have it on dvd. I recently saw The Lake House (US version) again and I have to admit I like it. Usually Sandra Bullock manages to ruin the film for me by just being in it but this time she didn't (just like in Crash she didn't thou that might have been due to the small part she had in it)

I agree with The Notebook. I found very refreshing that the rich rival wasn't portraited as nasty or arrogant, but rather a likeable character.

I don't know if it's really a romantic movie (she dies in the end  ; more of a tradegy :P ), but it's some french one and it was really good.
Pretty Woman & Titanic

10 Things I Hate About You... as mentioned before. My favourite film.

Also, A Walk To Remember, based on a book by Nicholas Sparks (who also wrote the book version of The Notebook).

Twilight should be added to this hopefully...even though

it obviously won't do the book justice. But still, high
