RINGSIDE FOR DELTAGATE

 

AS ONE imagines most Herald Sun readers were. I was mighty shocked to read about the rumblings in Camp Goodrem. For those who’ve been living in Adelaide, a serious rift has developed between Delta’s beau Brian and her momz Lea, because her Stateside assault has stalled.

 

As 5ive sagely noted, there are two sides to every story. Deltagate is no exception, so it’s hard to get a true handle on what’s going on, but the underlying issue is that Bri’s controlling influence has been blamed for Delta failing to crack the US.

 

It’s a tough one for Ma Goodrem, whose maternal and managerial instincts have merged, as she wonders why her little girl has not yet taken her rightful place as the ruler of the pop universe.

 

Believeing that McFadden is intercepting and responding to career-related emails without Delta’s knowledge wouldn’t exactly alleviate her concerns, either.

 

And there’s the minor matter of Delta kb-ing management offers from heavyweights while Brian – who has about as much power in the US music industry as an AAA battery – tries to lure her to his fledging management stable.

 

But before blaming Bri, I’ll wait to hear his story. He was clearly smitten with Our Delta when I spoke to him last year, and may feel he has her best interests at heart. His assertion that the couple share the email address he’s accused of snooping on may well be true.

 

For the general public, airing dirty laundry may be more entertaining than Seany B’s group, but someone always gets hurt. It is inevitable Delts will be forced to heed her own words and make a choice, be it right or wrong, between her mum and her fella. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the things you like.

What is going on, all this bad media, has come out of nowhere, like she decided the US wasn't for right now...... so she took a holiday, and all of a sudden Brian is fighting with Leah, replying to delta personal e mails, and decided what her next career step is...... What is going on????
