Posted November 15, 200816 yr Does anyone do sport betting? Quite a few of my friends do and I thought I'd give it a go today. £2 accumulator on Man Utd to beat Stoke, Chelsea to win a West Brom, Wigan to win at Newcastle, Wolves to win at Southampton, Swansea to win at Norwich and Forest to draw at Bristol City. £2 would give me over £250! Of the 5 3 o clocks with 10 mins to go the only team letting me down was Forest (the team I support) who were winning so I really wasn't arsed. Bristol then equalised and with 5 mins to go I was on for all 5 coming in then the bloody Geordies had to go and get a point! Gutted! :(
November 15, 200816 yr I sometimes do it, i've not done as much of late though because it's impossible for them to come off half of the time! Or usually some team always f***s my bet up in the last 5 minutes! :(

Gutted! :( Me and my mate have little wagers on motorsport and tennis - I love motorsport but know FA about most sports and he lives for tennis. So far this year I'm £15 up after predicting the Wimbledon winner, that last tennis one we just had what Djokovic won and the BTCC champiosnhip - happy days Edited November 25, 200816 yr by brunoboi
November 25, 200816 yr I know a bookmaker that owns a Bentley Continental, that says it all There is only one winner in betting and that is the bookie
November 25, 200816 yr Yup, although I get my Dad to place them. :heehee: Only ever on horses though!, I'm almost 70% time always right.
November 25, 200816 yr I do small bets on greyhounds and horses if I'm passing, I have no clue on form etc, I just pick a good name and hope because it's fun! Ocassionally play roulette too, not sports betting so much, and the optimist in me had a fiver on Arsenal to win the Champions League last year :P I never bet much though. It makes me laugh when people bet alot and are $h!tting themselves for a whole match. One bloke had the correct halftime score of the latest Arsenal-Spurs match (I think it was draw at half time) and then had Arsenal to take the second half, he would have won a mint - and we all know what happened in injury time - was the only small comfort to the loss of points!

And let's be honest. You're far more likely to be up on betting than you are playing the lottery, which millions of people do each week! Edited November 26, 200816 yr by RabbitFurCoat

Lottery is a mugs game, I never bother playing it Betting has short term gains for some people but long term.... Far more money is to be made investing on the stock market especially buying shares in companies when they are low and gambling on them going high and thus making a profit, I do that a lot, I have taken a bit of a hit recently but in a lifetime I am several grand up
November 27, 200816 yr I know someone who makes a living from gambling, more Las Vegas than sports, but they did a politics of gambling degree!

January 17, 200916 yr £1 on Man Utd, Chelsea, Villa, Blackburn, Doncaster, Norwich & Forest = £122.09 GOD BLESS DIMITAR AND FRANK! Oh god. I'm currently £35 down on my betting experiences since I turned 18 (in early December), so I'm currently not betting at all in protest of my foul luck. Edited January 17, 200916 yr by TheFletch
April 12, 200916 yr I have a fiver on Cabrera winning this play-off. Well winning the whole thing not just the play-off ;o In moderation, betting is
August 23, 201014 yr Thought i'd use this old topic rather than starting a new one.... During the World Cup I placed my first ever bets, and it made the games more interesting to watch, so now i'm getting into it for the domestic season, and I had the idea to do a weekly £1 10 game accumulator. Stupidly I went into it thinking it wouldn't be too hard, but i've not got close so far  Done it 3 weeks so far and got 4/10 every week. I seem to do well predicting League 1 results though, so I might just tone it down a bit and go for 5/6 league 1 games in future weeks :D Anyone else doing any football betting this season?
August 23, 201014 yr I don't really do footbal betting. Every weekend I have the odd accum, and it never wins. They're just so hard, like I had 5 teams win on Saturday (out of 6) and my other team got beat 4-0...such a joke. I did have £20 win on Hull against Swansea at like 11/10 on the first game of the season. Comsdering having a few small bets on the Liverpool-Man City game tonight though.
August 23, 201014 yr Yeah I agree it's proving much harder than I thought it would be. In the first 2 weeks of the season, I had a 3-0 deficit to make up in 1 game by half time. I'm hoping things settle down in the coming weeks though, I'm hoping it'll be a bit easier to predict once we get to October/November....
August 23, 201014 yr Betting of the beginning of season is difficult. It's all just guess work as to who will do well and who won't. Like at the moment i'm pretty much going off last seasons form and teams that have been promoted that I think will do well...it's a good bit of fun though, but i've still never ever won an accum, but I don't normally ever tend to choose safe teams aside from the odd one so...
August 23, 201014 yr Author I never bother with £1 accumulators any more. Always better to do £5/£10 as I found that betting just £1 you had to put loads of games on to make the winnings worthwhile. I had Spurs, Everton, Burnley, Bournemouth and Stevenage at the weekend. All were winning at half time, the latter three went 2 up in the second half and then Wolves scored. Gutted. :(
August 28, 201014 yr Craig if you see this can I just say I FUCKING HATE SPURS Unless bunch of twats the lot of them. Two different accumilators I had them in and unsurprisingly they were the only team that didn't win... c**ts!
