November 17, 200816 yr Author thanks for this!! No problem :) I got the impression nobody read it last week, I was thinking of giving up...
November 17, 200816 yr Author True, but loads of songs would be doing much worse. I'd like to have KOL - Use Somebody in the top 20, and Tom Jones' newie in the top 40!
November 17, 200816 yr Author Sorry, i'll try to sort one out for later this week. How's this week in 1998 sound?
November 17, 200816 yr Sorry, i'll try to sort one out for later this week. How's this week in 1998 sound? 1998 = best year of the '90s musically! Yes, please! :cheer:
November 17, 200816 yr Author Fantastic year I agree. But I seem to remember the radio being quite MOR and Corrs-heavy back then. Nothing against the Corrs, but there is a limit :)
November 17, 200816 yr Fantastic year I agree. But I seem to remember the radio being quite MOR and Corrs-heavy back then. Nothing against the Corrs, but there is a limit :) Madonna, Massive Attack, Air, & Garbage defined 1998 for me.  Times when Electronic acts could be hugely successful! B)
November 17, 200816 yr Author True, there was some amazing aritsts back then, and Sash! was in his heyday too

Pretty good top 10 though. The retros are Work In Progress at the moment so I'm afraid I can't provide peaks and chart runs, but if anyone's interested, I could post this week in 2003 (or maybe even 1993 if you're very nice) later in the week. Songs with asterisks are pre-releases at this point in time. Just had a quick retro sesh and checked out some of the more forgotten songs in this chart - Pras' Blue Angels is a fantastic Grease-sampling hip hop track, and Doolally - Straight From The Heart is like Shanks & Bigfoot - Sweet Like Chocolate but better. Not so keen on E17 - Each Time or Shamrock - Tell Me Ma (like Rednex meets B*Witched in a dark alley :puke2:) though! Feel free to post your opinions and memories, or make any requests and I'll do what I can. Cheers!
November 19, 200816 yr Author Sex On The Beach by T-Spoon :naughty: ;) I loved that actually...
November 19, 200816 yr An abundant amount of great tracks in 1998. Good ol' Karen Ramirez debuting at #22. Class track - better than Looking For Love in my opinion! You wouldn't see the likes of Culture Club, Beautiful South, or Savage Garden so high on the chart today. :(
November 19, 200816 yr Author Yeah, good track, though I always liked Troubled Girl. Beautiful South and Culture Club did incredibly on airplay - much better than on sales, and Savge Garden were radio staples too.
