Posted November 18, 200816 yr http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/18/bnp_loses_list/ BNP membership list leaks online Rightwingers left exposed By John Oates • Get more from this author Posted in ID, 18th November 2008 14:31 GMT Webcast: Building Applications for the 21st Century The British National Party has lost its membership list - the whole thing has been published online. The list includes names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of all members up to September 2008. It also includes some people's ages, especially those under 18 - the BNP offers family membership for £40. Many entries also contain more personal comments about jobs or hobbies. That's how we know that that BNP members include receptionists, district nurses, amateur historians, pagans, line dancers and a male witch. Members have unsurprisingly reacted with outrage. One commenter said: "I'm also on the list, what the f#ck is going on? I could lose my job." Another: "The most shocking thing is some of the comments by the names! God help anyone who is in the army, the pison [sic] service, health care, police officer or a teacher." Several professions in the UK are expected to refrain from party political activities. More outraged racists rightwingers here. Various senior BNP figures are being blamed on blogs for the leak. A spokesman for the BNP was unaware of the leak but said: "It wouldn't surprise me if someone has done this, but they'll be in trouble, not just under the Data Protection Act but also for contempt of court - there's an ongoing court case." UKIP recently rejected overtures from the BNP suggesting an electoral pact. Meanwhile, UKIP's most famous ex-member, Robert Kilroy Silk is currently disporting himself on I'm a Celebrity...while collecting his MEP salary of course. And here is the list - http://bnpmemberslist.blogspot.com/
November 19, 200816 yr 2 minds about this tbh..... ok it reveals possible racists in prominant jobs...but.... its still a breech of privacy...
November 19, 200816 yr I'm suprised the people responsible for the leak are ex BNP members. It is a breach of privacy but who cares, they are only BNP followers, it's their own fault for giving their personal info to the membership.

November 19, 200816 yr Damn I wanted to see the list  There is a website still online that allows you to search for members by postcode, but I'm not going to post the link here as I'm still in two minds about this, and also I'm sure I'd be breaking some law or other. It's undoubtedly a huge breach of privacy. Like it or not, the BNP IS a legal political party. It thus seems more than a little hypocritical for society to allow this party to exist, and then sack public officials who join up. But at the same time, the BNP is a GROSSLY unpleasant group, and this is surely going to steer people away from voting for them, joining them, or having any sort of association whatsoever. Which can only be a good thing I guess. I can't see how Nick Griffin is going to survive this intact, even his own supporters will be baying for his blood now. It's also HIGHLY amusing watching those on the list scrabbling around in a mad panic. Apparantly some public figures have already suffered the consequences. The Talksport DJ Rod Lucas has been axed after appearing on the list, although he makes an attempt to distance himself from the BNP HERE. AMUSEMENT The far right imploding ("Sharon" is apparantly Sharon Ebanks, formerly of the BNP, now one of the founders of the New Nationalist Party). But really, what is obvious from this whole mess, is that the UK REALLY needs to make a firm decision on which side of the fence they sit on regarding the BNP. Edited November 19, 200816 yr by Shoat

I do support some of the BNP's views, not on race I hasten to add but on areas like Europe, crime etc but the BNP is a neo nazi group of racist tattooed skinheads by and large and many of the top BNP figures have a crimesheet as long as my arm so they are a very unsavoury organisation I do think that it was right to publish the list, it is in the public interest to know that doctors who treat black and asian patients, police officers who have to arrest black and asian suspects and so on are members of a neo nazi organisation who are partially financed by Combat 18 and Johnny Adair's UVF, charming people if you Google them  loyalist terrorist groups have strong links to the BNP and Combat 18 are in charge of BNP security, it is right that the public should know who is a member

The other danger from this though, is that there may be vigilante "retaliation" attacks against these members. Already there are reports of people receiving phone threats. Not only is violence and intimidation NOT the answer at all, but it risks turning the BNP into a martyr organisation. Which we REALLY do NOT need. People really need to tread carefully around this.
November 19, 200816 yr Author Yeah you are right there Some people would say it was karma for all the harrassment, intimidation and physical violence against minorities by BNP supporters that has taken place over the years but 2 wrongs dont make a right and bricking their windows or whatever is not going to help things very much but it is good that they are looking over their shoulders, the hunters have become the hunted and dont like it one bit However I do hope this blows over, some of the people on that list might have moved in the last year and the new families in those houses will be targeted in mistake for BNP people so I hope this doesn't get out of hand
November 20, 200816 yr I had a quick look at this list yesterday, and I found two people from my village on it, and they both live really close to me. :o
November 20, 200816 yr hi kate, where have you been? :) Hi Mushsta! I'm still here. I changed my screen name a while back. I haven't been online that much lately because of work and that. But now I'll be online less because my PC has broke :( I can only go online at work or when I take the work laptop home.

November 21, 200816 yr Police Officers have it stipulated in their contracts that they CANNOT join an organisation like the BNP.... Therefore, I see it as perfectly legitimate to "out" these people, I certainly would not be comfortable either with Doctors or Teachers being BNP members either... I dont view the BNP as being a legitimate political party in the slightest, they very deliberately incite racism and violence wherever they go (they really are just the NF gone slightly "legit" and wearing nice designer suits instead of army parkas and bovver boots), so they should be treated as an organisation such as Al Mujahouroun (I think that's how you spell it....). As for the threatening phone calls to BNP members... Cant say I give a sh!t tbh, play with fire and all that.... -_-

Also, as one of the panel on Question Time said last night, it's hard to feel sympathy for someone losing their job just becuase of the political party they belong to when the party they belong to would rid many more people of their jobs just becuase of the colour of their skin and country they're from!

November 21, 200816 yr well like it or not, they ARE a legitimate, legal, party. you cant go around picking which laws you want to adhere to and not others. atm the bnp ARE legal. Seems to me you like them a bit too much mate... :P At least Craig aint feeling sorry for these maggots.... Nor do I.... And RFC's point is a totally valid one too... Fukk them if they lose their jobs, Hell, I'd sack the racists, no problem especially if I was a school headmaster or summat, how the hell can they teach kids from different racial or ethnic backgrounds and be a member of NF/BNP, it's TOTALLY incompatible.... Maybe it'll dawn on their tiny little brains that being a fukkin' fascist is unnacceptable.... And, while we're on the subject of laws and regulations, it is AGAINST the regs for a Police Officer to be a member of BNP, so totally FUKK THEM if they get sacked... THEY cant pick and choose which rules they follow when they sign up for the job either mate.... Unless you actually think coppers should be above the law somehow.... And also, we cant just sit around and wait for the law to 'catch up' to these people, no protest movement would ever have flourished had people just "sat around" and accepted the Status Quo, the likes of you, me and Kate would never have gotten the VOTE for a start... I find it incredibly hypocritical that we can jail people like Abu Hamza for "hate speech" or jail young muslim girls for writing anti-western poetry and posting it on a blog, on the one hand; and then on the other, allow the likes of Nick Griffin the pathetic cover of free speech to spout whatever sh!t he likes because he's a leader of a "political party".... "Ah!" you say "but people like Hamza incite terrorism".. Maybe, but people like Griffin incite racial beatings, hate crimes and racial murder.... So, er, the difference is....? Other than the bleedin' OBVIOUS difference that is, and I think we can all guess as to what that might be.... Or do I need to spell it out....? Rob, you will NEVER understand what it is like to be the victim of intolerance, racial or otherwise, you're white, English, Anglo... I grew up in the 80s as a Catholic, I went to a Catholic primary school, the very same sorts of maggots who supported NF/BNP, were shouting "little Fenian B'astards" or "son of an Irish whore" at me and my friends whenever the IRA chose to blow something up (yeah, like there was anything us kids could do about that.... -_- ).. Craig is himself Jewish and has probably had to deal with sh!t as well.. So, maybe you should just be a little bit more understanding of the reasons for hostility we have towards the likes of BNP....
November 21, 200816 yr What really made me laugh about this whole thing though was the fact that Nick Griffin went around whining about it all being the fault of the "Labour regime"... Really...? Here was me thinking that it was actually EX-MEMBERS of the BNP who had posted up the info....  Looks like they, at least, woke up to who the BNP really are and decided that it was in the public interest to warn people about the BNP infiltration of schools, hospitals, the Police.... Tell you what though, I wouldn't mind seeing a similar "outing" of members of the Freemasons and the Orange Lodge.....

November 22, 200816 yr whether you like it or not they are a legal, legitimate party! Yeah, maybe, but 1) I dont have to bloody like the fact and 2) it's completely and utterly hypocritical that they are when the law has gone and targeted the likes of Sinn Fein in the past, and certain Islamic political groups... Surely it should be a case of what's sauce for the goose, also being sauce for the gander, if you know what I mean....

Surely it should be a case of what's sauce for the goose, also being sauce for the gander, if you know what I mean.... maybe but as long as they are legit.... anyway, been thinking about this. its no ones business which political party anyone belongs too as long as its legit. the bnp have a reputation for being racist fascists but thats illegal so i doubt that theres ACTUALLY that much extremism in the party... i can think of other groups though who DO regularly preach hate, factions of islam for eg. ive heard far more hatred for US as a race from them then i have the thugs from the bnp. but would a ban on muslim teachers be acceptable?.... lol.. nope! are ALL muslims racist? nope but then again neither are ALL bnp members! the facts are that whether anyone is a racist or not, being in the bnp does not make them automatically racist, theres plenty of racism both hidden and not so hidden. ok racism is awful, but be even handed here and criticise ALL race hate. im away now till monday, no doubt you as an anglophobe will yet again support any minority group over any white male english group and ONLY br critical of US :P
