March 17, 200916 yr Author the problem is most shows dont invite dance acts to perform, simple as that.
March 18, 200916 yr That's true, but now you point it out, it seems weird. Dance acts were all over TV in the 90s.
March 19, 200916 yr Author well duh, obviously there is still some success, but i'd hardly call the genre popular these days...
March 19, 200916 yr when I go out to clubs it is literally everywhere, but it sells moreso on Clubland albums and more recently artist albums, and is very prone to illegal downloading/people just watching the songs on youtube you should see how many views some of the AATW videos on youtube have had, tens of millions, for songs that flop in at No.67 in the charts!!! I don't know what can happen for people to start buying this music again, but it's certainly very popular here but in arenas other than the singles chart. It's the favourite genre of most of my friends, but none of them ever buy music :(
March 20, 200916 yr It's still quite a bit more popular in countries like the UK compared to, well, here in America. I neve hear pure dance tracks on the radio. Hard for dance tracks to break into the mainstream here although it's not as hard in Europe. I still don't see why there is a big issue for dance tracks that can still sound pretty mainstream like 'Can't Get Over.' Why should they get any less promo? It still didn't do that badly so that's good. It seems that it's easier for some dance to breakthrough in charts than it was a few or more years ago. But maybe I'm wrong? Edited March 20, 200916 yr by Unusual Me
March 21, 200916 yr Author It's still quite a bit more popular in countries like the UK compared to, well, here in America. Well you could've picked a better country for comparison, dance was never popular in America compared to European standards. It was the most popular genre out of all genres, throughout the 90s and early 00s, that's how much the scene changed in the last 6 years.
